As for this post, 1600pts ($20)?,no big whoop, i'll do it. A pack of smokes(thanks Mayor Bloomberg!) and Starbucks could cost me more...

"Minimum 10 hours", longer than many of the $60 games.

Think about it this way: Braid was 1200 points. Now, Braid kicked ass. So did GTA IV. GTA will be longer and more have immersion than Braid.

What's the problem here?

I expected a lot more from this expansion than just a new storyline. No new guns, cars, fun old gta3 stuff, no chance

20 bucks will get you any number of full retail games or used now adays. They are really pushing this point ceiling too high.

BTW have to admit that the 800 that went into "the Maw" was well worth it. Purchased for kids and wife, but I ended up playing it happily. Fun platformer and very clean graphics.

That's what I would expect.. I picked up Wipeout HD for the same price and found it worthwhile. It's a little bit different when it's additional content for a game you've purchased for $60 retail though.

If they released this for PC I would get it, which they have no reason not to, I mean it's Microsoft, so I mean couldn't they release it for PC if they wanted since they own the writes, but at last, I will have to waste my $20 somewhere else.

That's pretty steep, I was anticipating around $15. But I will reluctantly say "I'm in" because I just KNOW something better and more fun can happen with the game engine they have and the city they've made.

I might buy this although I stop playing GTAI after I completed the story mode because online it was borked and xlive tards deserve to die in the most painful way imaginable.

The only fun I had online was when I managed to get the sniper rifle and killed 2 teams by myself hiding in the dark and shooting anyone who was in a car or stood still.

That and when I psyched a guy in front of me in a race. I was repating in the mic “Dudex You‘re going to crash, Dudex You‘re going to crash, dudex You‘re going to crash” and so on and he keep saying f*ck off or something and then he crashed and I said “I told ya” then he quitted the game, it was awesome.

With that said I played it recently and I found out that the game is borked as well, I blown up 10 cars in 10 seconds also I did all the Most Wanted quest and the achievements never unlocked.

I was on the cusp for this one since I haven't beat GTAIV itself yet, but at $20 I'm a definite no. Now, if I can find discount points like I did last year to bring the price down to around $10, sure.

It does seem pretty dumb to be complaining about the price of a expansion that is in line with the price of expansions for quite some time. Just because you Download the expansion doesn't mean it should be priced as if it was a community game. From the IGN preview you can see R* put a lot of work into the expansion.

By most people reasoning, you would never buy anything on Steam because since it's DLC, it should be 10 bucks

I...

That's it, I give up. Because apparently it's too much to ask for people to actually read up on the content instead of making stupid comments such as: "omg 20 dollars for a couple of Bike Missions."

Seriously, and again I'll repeat myself, the amount of content in this dlc rivals those found in a full $60. I mean, new locations? New weapons? A full story mode? That's something that I expect for $30. But $20 for all that? That's a fucking steal.

But I guess what they say is true. Gamers are truly the cheapest people on the planet. Now I'm going to excuse myself before I punch a wall.

@El

I don't know, maybe it's for the same reason why you feel the need to protect every single PS3 game from people who dare criticize them. Because you like them. Or maybe you work for sony yourself.

It's a good deal, and if you're complaining about the price, then yeah you kinda do deserve to be called cheap.

Look at all these folks complaining about $20. For a 10-20 hour expansion? That's not bad at all.

I shouldn't talk, as I don't own nor do I want GTA4, but still. Reality check.

Generally I'd agree with you, since a lot of $60 games today take less than 10 hours to beat (see: COD4 campaign). It's just tough to justify another $20 on a $60 game without something spectacular.

When you consider what 800ms points normally buys you in a DLC it is a pretty good deal.

Look at Fable 2 and Mass Effect loved the DLC but it was to short, 10 hrs is pretty sweet most $60 games don't even have 10 hrs of gameplay.

GTAIV wasn't that great a game as people make it seem. It's a 7.9 in my books so obviosuly hell no i'm not paying $20 (well more cuz i'm in canada) for this dlc.

I think everyone seems to be looking at this like a new game. You have to ask yourself what you are actually buying here. Firstly, how much do you value a few new weapons and some new vehicles (which are effectively new skins). $5?? The story element of it.... is that worth $15. I know what my answer is

Given that the whole game sells brand new for $30 at Newegg, $20 for DLC content is a bit steep...I think the probability of some sort of 'game of the year' edition that contains the original game, the lost and the damned and other DLC will be bundled onto one game package that will sell for $30-40 tops by the end of 2009 is likely pretty high. Like what they did with San Andreas back in the day. As it is, I'm glad I sold my copy GTA IV in the summer rather than to wait for $20 DLC

1200 points and I'd probably get it. 1600? You can fuck RIGHT off Rockstar. Just because your game is popular it doesn't mean people will take your shit no matter how you price it...

It's 20 bucks for an expansion. Some people don't think it's worth that much for DLC. You all don't have to agree.

My issue is this: the original game is 60 bucks new. I didn't buy it at that price. In a year, maybe it will be 30 bucks or maybe 40. At that point, I may buy.

As for DLC, I would pay 20 for it possibly if it were delivered on a DVD just like the main game. Why? Because I can resell it for some $$ if I was so inclined. One beef I have with DLC is that unlike a game, you are not able to sell it down the road. And another thing, does the price of DLC regularly go down? What if I buy GTA used for 30 bucks, is 20 bucks for DLC worth it? Not to everyone.

Stop hating on the people who don't think DLC (this DLC) is worth asking price. OBVIOUSLY, at the price quoted, man people will think twice. Value depends on who you ask.

Just because other DLC is priced high is no justification that this DLC is the right price for everyone. The person who said Braid is 1200 and therefore the GTA DLC at 1600 is worth it is using some kind of backwards or incomplete logic. I personally will not buy Braid for 1200 because I think it's too pricey. It then does not become a case to support the claim that the GTA DLC is a good deal for everyone.

Obviously, the price is a problem for some people.

That's ashame, I was looking forward to this, but for 1600 points (which for us Canadians means buying a 2800 point card, since our $20.00 only buys 1400 points) is just too much.

I'll wait for the inevitable DLC sale like they did last Nov/Dec. I'm sure I'll be able to pick this up for 800 points within a year of it releasing.

And the fewer people buy it, the faster it goes on sale... so... NO ONE BUY IT :)

I'm going to wait for one of two things to happen:

1) A disc edition to come out (probably a special edition gta which inlcudes the original game + DLC)

2) The release on playstation 3
