If they implement trophies and add trophies for online gaming right now (and not been retroactive)... they will OMFG everyone.

Yay!

And there are usually around 1 full lobby (950 players) around 600 - 800 in the other lobby, and a few hundred scattered around the other lobbys.

Its a great community on MGO, a great, feature rich game.

It's too bad that MGO doesn't have the same lvl of popularity as in japan (where you'll often see 4 lobbies all filled to the max during the peak evening hours).

It would help if they fixed up some of the mechanics that some people feel is broken. Like assigning the d-pad for different item equips would be a start instead of having to scroll through an item list. I've still not gotten used to smoothly switching between the primary, secondary, then support (heck, it's a cumbersome nightmare getting the knife out since there's no 4th slot in the rotation).

Unfortunately, you hit it right on the nose. Biggest mistake of the PS3's lifetime right here I think. I have a Konami ID and everything all set up already, but I never play this game even though I like it because the chore of finding the right game to get into without falling into a game where the rules have been set to something really dumb (knife only, shoot and get kicked! etc) is too much to bare.

Yeah like COD but slower and over the shoulder. I played the demo of both online and single player. It looks amazing but geez when are companies going to learn that 3rd person shooters are generally flawed. At least give someone the option of a FP view simialar to the Ghost Recon games.

You can play in FP mode, but only when you hold down a button (R1, maybe?)....

Idk, 3rd person makes me feel like I'm the character vs. 1st which I like, but I agree that I didn't care for the 3rd person mode in MGO because it felt too slow....

@Devin

You can increase your running by increasing the running skill. The only thing Konami has to let players do is have a total skill cost of 6 or 9 so you can have more simultaneous maxed out skills.

I LOVE MGO. I had over 200+ hours logged online. it was pretty much my full time job. (nothing to be proud of i know). The reason i dont play as much anymore has alot to do with the new maps and my suddenly slower internet connection. Playing an online game while lagging isnt fair to anyone. So i opted to stay out of the servers. Iam glad its still getting upgrades tho.

I'll try this out when it comes out. maybe ill get back into the FIGHT.

HARRY CROTCH is my MGO name.

I still play MGO, but I dislike the Konami ID, their independent store (its a chore to buy anything), and the lack of trophies.

Come on Konami, incorporate MGO with the playstation store, allow PSN ID and add trophies and I will stay with MGO for another year!!

I LOVE this game. Stop complaining about the Konami ID's. Takes 10 minutes before you start the game and you never have to worry about it again. I agree the PSN store would have been easier, but it doesn't diminish the game one bit.

Stopped COD for this last summer and still find myself playing this over COD and SOCOM. I love the pacing, the accuracy and the sound and feel of shooting the guns. When you get with a good team and play together it's one of the best experiences I've had gaming.

I did do the initial start up when i first bought the game, but mostly just played the campaign. When I tried to play MGO when dome friends bought, I couldnt remember what either of my ID's were and really didnt feel like going through it all again. And, my friends couldnt bother themselves signing up either.

When will Konami do something about their servers? Even the ones with full green bars lags badly. A lot of people hated MGO cuz of its laggy servers. No matter how many things they add "even though they`re great" people won`t play in such laggy servers.

I have EU version and only one lobby is full while the other one could have 600 players and the other lobbies are simply have 13 or 12 players .. Not to mention that sometimes you only find 200 players in late nights .. Konami just kept destroying our precious online game ..

Sheeesh to many haters i'd say it's because of the learning curve most of would rather group & hate on it than just say "okay to bad i'm not very good at the game" It's truly the best online game ever made it's just under appreciate in these regions (NA & EU), so the haters I have a friendly Fuck you. & for those saying the controls are cumbersome why should the system be fixed for one person!? Everyone who's still playing MGO to date had found their way around it. Konami doesn't have to baby people to how their needs see fit if you don't like it or you won't play don't hate on it.

You honestly would say that the whole scrolling system for inventory makes any logical sense instead of actually mapping it to the the damn D-pad? Are you some sort of masochist? =P

That simple change along would help draw in more people to play. Alot of us don't have the sort of time it takes to get into that pattern of memorizing how many trigger clicks I need to get to my handgun, my grenades, my rifle, and mind you, getting the knife out without putting away the assault rifle by accident.

It's not about catering to morons; so you're saying that by making the controls illogical, that's intended for smarter people? The whole goal is to make a game that's fun and accessible to everyone, within the context of what MGS is all about (it's not that apparent in TDM but TSNE is a great example).

Dude you make so good points either than those assumptions about my logic :P . But I think it's great Konami had sticked to the original scrolling controls in tradition of MGO & MGS. I'd personally say it would be an insult to remove that interface but if you're saying to change R2 to up & down on the directional buttons it wouldn't be that bad but WTF it's damn easy to just click R2 from primary, to secondary to special weapon you make it sound hard!! There's only 3 weapon categories in your inventory & while you're playing as Snake just scroll through like you would ANY MGS GAME WORD YOU SOUND CRAZY!!! Sorry i'm a big time fan

I stopped playing it because Konami purposely added in the last MGO's glitches so people will keep talking about it, and never let it die.

Its a different freaking engine and your going to tell me its a coincidence that ALL of the old PS2 glitches are still around?

Also, still no trophies. They add in DLC like there is no tomorrow, yet taking the time to write down some info and add in some pictures, is too much trouble.

They don't even have to do that! They already did the Emblems! The only thing they have to do is LINK the Emblems to the trophies. Sheesh, not supporting trophies is just being plain dumb.

I think the reason there isn't (and never will be) Trophy support is because Konami does not use the PSN _at all_. Their game uses Konami's servers and peers to authenticate and setup games. Even their downloading system uses a bittorrent-ish or http download method.

In short, since the game is 100% disconnected from the PSN, you'll never get trophies.
