Tempting, but the allure of the art cell is kind of killed by the fact that it looks to be done by the new person Nintendo hired to do all of the official art for Shadow Dragon. The character design is pretty ugly when compared to the previous few FEs. Not to mention that Amazon is pre-selling the game for $7 less than GameStop.

Wow! That's a pretty amazing deal! I wouldn't call myself a seasoned strategy vet but I've played the GBA Fire Emblem games -- actually, I'm currently playing The Sacred Stones on my DS Lite -- and absolutely loved them, and I'm not even an RPG freak! The stories, dialogue, characters...what's not to love? I also feel the same way about the artwork in Shadow Dragon. I don't think it's ugly but it is a definite downgrade from the anime-inspired visuals from the previous releases in the series.

I already got my imported version from europe, I couldn't wait for it, I'm a fire emblem nut.

The art was better in the snes version, wich is the one I played (the only one with translation patch, and it comes with book 2).

Nice, I canceled my previous order and made a new order with free 2-day shipping, so I saved $3 and I'm getting the game a week (or at least three or so days) sooner! :D

By the way, people, the art is by Masamune Shirow, so it's very much manga style.

Far be it for me to insult the artistic talents of the person behind Ghost in the Shell and Appleseed, but there's just something really off about Marth, Sheeda, Navarre, and the few other characters I've seen illustrated. I think it has something to do with the rounder faces and overly-clean CG coloring. Nintendo could have taken the character design in any number of directions that would have been just fine to me, but this one just doesn't do it.

Not that I'm saying that I couldn't see how other people would like it, of course. I'm really just speaking for myself. Besides, the character profiles in-game are just fine to me, which is far more important to my enjoyment of the game than a picture I'm only going to see once while thumbing through the manual.
