If you read the email they send you, you wouldn't have to.

What's 'f-ing' sick and 'f-ing' cheap is that times aren't really all that bad for Microsoft. They still posted a HUGE profit. It was just 11% less profit than last year. So they've decided to cut 5,000 jobs which sucks for all those employees.

Thanks for being loyal to the company over these last 20 years bob but I'm terribly sorry that our profit margin has fallen by 11%. That means 11% shorter yachts our executives will be touring the carribean on and I'm afraid that's not acceptable.

You and your family will just have to find a new job in the IT sector during this recession. Clear your desk by the end of the day. Your one of the unlucky 2,000.

Its sucks for the end-user too. I mean, where are the 5,000 jobs going to be dropped from? Possible sources include customer service(it can be outsourced to India for cheaper), quality assurance(let the customer's report the bugs to us rather than we look for them. Maybe they won't notice the bugs and we can save that much more money on hiring programmers!), research and development(Man that table surface thing you guys are working on sure is hot stuff, but, you haven't made a profit from it...so..goodbye. Don't show up for work tommorow).

So less customer service, less quality and less r&d that's possibly cutting-edge or a bit out-there/theoritical. Thanks for cutting all those jobs Microsoft! I hope you get that 11% profit back without any sales on Windows 7 from me. I'll just stick with Vista till 7's sucessor comes out. 7 is just vista with a face lift anyways.

Again, you could read the confirmation email and get your password so you don't have to deal with the emails anymore...

Of course Microsoft's stock dropped. They are technology company that depends on innovation and marketing. By shedding employees from R&D and sales, they have set themselves up to be a weaker competitor when the recession ends.

Noobs vista rocks just update it to SP1 and I have never had a problem with Vista. Also Microsoft Game Studio's split from Microsoft so it's a completely different entity now so Microsoft layoffs won't affect MS Game Studio.
