Noby Noby Boy snakes onto PSN Feb. 19 at $5

PSN exclusive Noby Noby Boy is ready to wrap itself around your wallet and suck out $5 on February 19. Katamari Damacy creator Keita Takahashi helmed this title -- and even after watching videos, we still have nary a clue about what's going on in it.

Even stranger than the gameplay of Noby Noby Boy is the meta-game going on among all the players. Namco Bandai explains that "players collaborate to unlock new game stages." As players stretch "Boy" in their individual games, an entity known as "Girl" is growing according to the combined length of all the players in the world. As Girl reaches certain milestones, those stages will be unlocked for everyone around the world. It's not clear if that means they'll be available as part of the game or as DLC.

im with Brett, for $5 it's sold. that is perfect impulse buy pricing right there. if i like it, great. if not, then i only just spent a McDonald's value meal. not a big deal.

There's no penalty I think for not being very good at the game. Hell, I'm pretty sure if you wanted to you could sit back and let the community and people who are in fact good at this game unlock everything for you. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

If it had been 10 dollars or more, I'd have been like "Screw this, I played it 20 years ago when it was called snake". For 5 dollars, it's a definite buy, if only because it's from the guy that did Katamari.

Yep, more developers need to realize that at $5, we'll buy almost anything, and we'll buy it immediately if it looks interesting. There have been some of the $5 I've bought without even trying the demo, if they looked interesting enough. I figured, what the hell, it's five freaking dollars.

lol i dont get it either, that's why it's so intriguing. i didnt get Katamari Damacy the first time i saw it either, i had to play it first, then i was hooked. hopefully this is the same.

plus at $5 does it really matter if it's good or not? i've wasted $5 on worse stuff. it's anything above $5 where i actually have to think about it before i buy it.

How is this $5? The same price as a couple of costumes for LBP?

I'm not expecting anything nearly as cool as Katamari but I'm sure I wont be disappointed.
It's trippy games like this that drew me to the ps2 then ps3.

I'm definitely going to be rolling up something big & fat when I download this, and it isn't going to be a katamari.

I'm guessing because you blindly hate Sony so much you never played Katamari on the PS2. Long story short, Katamari taught us that looks can be deceiving. The first time I saw it I thought it looked equally weird and stupid, but boy was I wrong! This is from the same creator and god I can't wait for it!

PS- If you're gonna troll please at least get a vocabulary. Using the word "gay" is not only offensive to people of a homosexual nature, it doesn't mean a damn thing. They're called adjectives, acquire some please.
