Factor in inflation costs since the original coining of that cliche...I think nowadays "Free" is just about equal to $4.99...give or take a penny....

I hope it comes with an inverted L texture on the forehead of the player in all online and offline games so you can clearly spot the cheating douchebags and make fun of them. Way to go EA.

I don't know what more pathetic: the fact that they're offering this, or the fact that people are stupid enough to buy it.

As long as it's clear that the items unlocked in the DLC can be gotten in the game normally, I'm fine with that. I know that there are certain games that I'd probably be willing to pay 5 dollars to be fully unlocked. Like Soul Calibur IV (I hate that God damn tower, but I want the costume pieces).

With your one comment, you've completely changed my mind from "this is stupid!" to "I would totally do that", specifically with Soul Calibur IV.

I guess it comes down to the game, then.

You know what... I love this. People who can't be arsed to unlock shit themselves should have to pay for a cheat code. They shouldn't just get the stuff other people work hard for for nothing. This is a great idea. Only an idiot would pay for it though...

Nothing new about this. Codemasters used to do it with the Colin McRae and TOCA games. Since those games were bloody impossible at later stages, I was happy to pay $5 to have more cars and tracks to drive when drunk with friends. It was either that or just never unlocking them.

Wow, as long as it's a single player game, who the fuck cares?

If it was a multiplayer game where someone got an in-game advantage because they were willing to spend more money then that would be one thing, but why the hell would I care if someone else wants that cool smiley face skateboard but doesn't have the time to play 40 hours to unlock it? It doesn't affect my ability to unlock it the original way in my completely separate, independent single player game.

Get over yourselves, you're not impressing anyone with your ability to unlock cool shit in your game that no one's ever going to see you play. What the hell do you care what other people do at home on their console?

I don't think I'd ever pay for something like this, but yeesh, if someone else has less time and more money and just wants to play Gran Turismo with the fast cars rather than grinding through hours of time with the slow cars you start the game with, then more power to them.

Well put sir. But then again there is this thing called achievements. There are some people out there who will do anything to have the upper hand in terms of gamerscore, even if that means buying a $5 cheat code. In other words they care about what other people think about what their doing on their console.

Heyo! I just got a brainfart!

Beautiful Katamari basically did the same thing.

It's lame, but even lamer is knowing someone out there will buy it.

I miss cheat codes. They always made the game more fun to play through again.
