An XBL friend of mine managed to get a $600 TV for $10.40 due to an apparent scanning error at the till.

The people working there must've been so stressed about losing their jobs they never even noticed.

Agreed, not exactly like all these other similiar retail electronic stores are hiring for their particular kind of experience at the moment. Horrible. Just horrible.

Noticed.. or gave a shit. If I was still a teenager resorting to being a clerk at Circuit City, I'm not sure I would care too much about the price of a TV being wrong if I wasn't going to have my job 2 months from now.

At my local CC, they have some Grrrreat deals already. I picked up an HDMI switcher for $25, a 300 foot HDMI cord for $50, a wireless XBOX 360 controller for $20, a 100 pack of DVDs for $3, a remote start system for $50(w/o install), and an entire car audio system(head unit, brackets and mounts, 6 speakers, sub and box, amp and tweeter) for $400. So all in all, my local CC is and has been picked clean, it was a zoo in there. It was funny how the employees just stood around like statues, and were totally lifeless. I will be sad to see it go, because I hate BestBuy, maybe if they price matched, and carried zune accessories.

This article is wrong. The sale has been (since day one)30 percent off on accessories, 20 percent on games and 10 percent on everything else.

Not everywhere. I was in my store the first day and it was 10% everywhere except for computer cables which were 30%. 360 accessories were already cleared out, anyway.

I was just at the store in Tigard, OR (Portland suburb) and picked up the 60 gb starter pack for 69.99. Not bad considering that the 3 month live card itself is worth 20. Now to figure out how to move everything from my 20 GB HDD... :(

actually the migration kit does work for 20 GB to 60 GB transfers -- I've done it myself. You may have to jump through some hoops but if you call customer support they should send you the migration kit for free

I have recovered my gamertag, but I don't own a memory card. I have thought about trying to get the migration kit, but I can't stand calling xbox support when I know more about troubleshooting my 360 than anybody I talk to there.

I think I will buy a memory card since it will come in handy in the future anyways. I was trying to do it without spending any more money, but oh well.

That's my Mama!!

BTW it should be mentioned that this does not go for PSN cards. I was refused the discount on the $50 cards yesterday since they "work with music and video and such" I argued that the xbox cards did the same thing. The woman said it was probably a Sony thing. So no discounts on PSN cards. If someone does get the discount please let me know. They had at least 25 just sitting there in the Peoria IL store.

Just got back from the Circuit Schitty in Alexandria VA. They are still only 10% accessories, and when I went to buy some ms points, they said the 10% doesn't include the cards.

Thank goodness I stocked up on cards when Target was offering 1600 points for $15. I will not be missing CC at all.

On the first few days, the MSP and XBL Subscriptions were discounted, but that's when the clerks had to do the discounts by hand. Now that the liquidators have taken over, they've started charging full price for the points and subscriptions, as of a day ago when i went to my local CC.

Atleast i got 3 800 point cards earlier this week for 30% off =)

Yes, CC is still selling X360 accessories (as well as all other video game accessories) at 10% off. Nothing's changed. There's no 30% off of those stuff. I just went there an hour ago, asked one of the employees, and they said it's hearsay.

I'd wait until February 1st. They got a sign up that says new merchandise is shipping daily to the stores, so I'd wait on it. The liquidation is through the end of March, so we gots time.

I had no problem getting the 30% discount at my CC. After reading about this I went down and picked up two 1600 points cards for about 14 bucks a piece. They were originally priced at 19.99. I'm thinking about heading back and picking up some more along with a years worth of 3 month cards.

What (major) city was the store located? You don't have to disclose your particular location, if you can avoid it. If anyone else posts and finds great deals, please inform us what city the store is located in. Thanks!

I just stopped at my CC during lunch and games and accessories were only 10% off. They were pretty cleaned out too. Only a handful of controllers and some HDMI cables. No points cards and no HDDs. Bummer.

At the CC I work at (kennewick, wa) Cables & Game Accessories are 30% off, the Points cards are not ringing up at 30% but my managers have been allowing price adjustment for it as far as i know. The Guitar Hero & Rock Band stuff is all 20% off along with CD's & DVD's (including blu-ray) and various other crap. And everything else is 10% off (TV's, Computers, Video Games, Etc.) The easy assumption is that it's at least 10% off unless otherwise marked. Keep mind that Circuit City is not owned or run by Circuit City anymore, it's all being run by a liquidation company (same one that did CompUSA) and they are the ones setting all the prices & rules, and none of us know when the sales will get higher, it'll just be when the liquidators call us and tell us to change everything, we'll probably have about a days notice for it, just call in your local CC every couple days or so to see it's changed.
