Square Enix has just announced a contest to promote (and give away) the upcoming Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride. If you are a citizen of the US (don't complain to us, we didn't make the contest) are eligible to win a big Dragon Quest V prize pack including a copy of the game signed by series producer Yuji Horii, along with a collection of awesome Dragon Quest toys. We are coveting that plush Slime Knight pretty hard.
Entering couldn't be easier. Well, it could be easier if they didn't make you poke around the website, but it's pretty easy. All you have to do is find all the monsters hidden around the official site, which will then lead you to a contest entry form. The site's pretty informative anyway, so it's worth the browse!
[Thanks, T.J.!]

I did it. Kind of a fun little time waster.

yes, the plush slimes are awesome! They should just sell them online instead of having to win one.

The Square Enix website has a merchandise link found here:

The SQEXTOYS section says 'coming soon'. Hopefully very soon they will be sold online.

I entered. After reading the prize allocations, I hae lost a little faith in SQUENIX. The only are offering 1 grand prize of the signed game and grab bag....quite a cheepass company considering the prize total is worth ~250. Oh well.

Even though you're right about Squeenix being tight-fisted misers, it says on the Monsters page that two runners-up will win vanilla copies of the game.

But still only one grab bag of the plushie and the figurines. With all three prizes, SQUENIX is out like ~300. Would it kill them to offer a few hundred of these prize bags? Just sayin...

The Slime is on the main page where it shows the map and title and it's moving around. You'll see him there eventually. He was the last one I had to find.
I don't remember where all the other ones were. Just click everything. All character bios. I know on the story page, you can scroll on the bottom to a new page. There was one there.

Sometimes, I hate that these sweepstakes can't be made worldwide. I understand that there would be more problems with it, than profit for companies, but still, I can't stop thinking about that the world would be a better (or at least, more peaceful) place, if everyone could take part and feel that just because there country is far from the "real" human settlements/just poor, they can still have a little fun.

Yay I entered! And as soon as the slime figures are available for sale on Square's site I'm buying them. :)
