Eidos has shuttered Rockpool Games, its mobile games studio, located in Manchester, England. Approximately 14 people are now out of work as the publisher refocuses its finances.
An Eidos spokesperson told Develop that the publisher needs to pursue "high-quality titles that will deliver long-term franchise value." Beyond the economic crisis, Eidos is most likely reducing costs in order to appear more attractive to potential buyers, especially to the mystery suitor it's already negotiating with.
