So, do we use this to pretend we are eating? I don't understand the space choice.

I doubt anyone here knows what this space may be used for. It could be used primarily for speculation. You know, a place for joystiqers to speculate about how it could be used as a virtual eatery.

HitnRun, that must be it. I guess I should give it the credit it deserves for making those empty chairs seem so real...and empty.

That's actually what I had in mind when I wrote that. Say what you want about Home, but those empty chairs are breathtaking.

Sort of symbolic of a larger endeavor, huh?

You sure do GAT DAMN a lot of things. Breathe, buddy. They're only games, (...or, in Home's case, inane boredom simulators) if they upset you so much, you can always shut them off.

Don't knock it guys, this is the future. Why would you want to go and get dressed to go out in the real world when you can hang out with your friend here in the comfort of your home.

Pay .50 for a lobster dinner online while eating a ham and cheese sandwich on your couch. How can you beat it?

the clothes arent that big of a deal to me......as long as its not OUTRAGEOUSLY priced....hell to me thats just DLC....hell you got people that spend HUNDREDS a year in MMOs....I just dont see myself paying maybe more than $10 a year for stuff inside of Home tho.....

and I know its coming but would MUCH rather have things that are useful in there......i.e.(Wheel of Fortune, Jepoardy, Buzz!, Warhawk War Room, Trophy Room, Game Launching, etc....but to me....this shit is useless and simply something else they can say they gae us in what will most likely be a 3+ year "beta"

People used to get around just fine without cell phones. That was less than 10 years ago. Now people completely freak when they forget their phone at the house.

It's going to be the same with Home. You are going to NEED your .50 lobster dinner.

Wow!! Instead of giving HOME users the second resident evil degeneration shirt we were promised or forcing developers to use game launching, we get another place to sit in or a place to find new glitches. HOME was definitely released too early.

I'm sorry, I seem to miss the potential. If it had a physics engine kinda like lbp and the tools to actually customize everything, I don't see it as any more then a sims online ripoff.

Oh man, you guys haven't lived until you've looked at a new space in Home only to realize that there is nothing to do in it. Good times, good times.

Problem is... Sony wanted to create a gaming community with Home (and is a good idead)...

But Home is not a gaming community, not at all... is a place where people go and do everything (well, mostly stalking women avatars and scream bad words and cursing) and nothing like talking about games or organize a multiplayer match, etc.

And yes, I have been in Home...

What you've said is absolutely true. I've been in Home several times, not knowing what I was looking for, and only ONCE did I meet anyone who seemed to play and be interested in games. It was shortly after Resistance 2 and Gears 2 came out, actually.

I see the potential, but it seems so far off in the distance. :/

It would be useful if it was set up as a portal to take out/delivery eateries that accept orders from the internet. Walk up to a counter at a pizza hut stall (advert kickbacks Sony?) place an order for a pizza and your real-life doorbell rings in 30 min or less.

My bad, it's too logical so it won't be done.

If I'd known it was this easy to develop big empty spaces for Home avatars to hang around I would have sent Sony my mock-ups for Alkali Flats Dance District and Floor of Unused Sports Arena.

The Japan's Home has a Cafe but its always empty. I only saw one person and he was in a corner spinning around in a circle. When I was in the Cafe there was nothing to do. Didn't really feel like a Cafe, just a empty place with four walls and some chairs.
