A trailer for Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings has popped up online. Watch as Indy gets thrown through a window, escapes floods, uses a whip, steals an amulet, and runs away from gunfire -- all without ever losing his trademark fedora. Yep, all in a day's work.
According to the video, it's coming Spring 2009 for Wii, DS, and an unidentified PlayStation console (it's already been rated for PSP and we know Wii games often see a PS2 port). This is great, LucasArts. Really ... but any chance of getting an Indy game in the vein of Indiana Jones and The Emperor's Tomb on 360 and PS3?
Oh, it all makes sense now: IGN's rumor; the vague response. Sounds to us like that project won't ever see the light of day, while Staff of Kings is LucasArts' "commitment" to the franchise. Is it possible to miss something that was never released?

That was a nice trailer. Just hope the actual game lives up to it.
And is Indy actually going to talk? He better. I don't care if it aint Ford's voice, I'm sure you can find someone who sounds close enough. Or just you know, change their voice so it is Ford's.

They should get Doug Lee to do the voice.. the guy from Fate of Atlantis and Infernal Machine.
PS// Fate of Atlantis is an awesome game which everyone should play.
PPS/ Infernal Machine was better than people gave it credit for.. people expected tomb raider, but it involved more thought, it was more of an adventure game.
(and with less rare animal slaughter than Lara..)

This is as close to Uncharted the Wii will most likely get.

What's with all these fucking gameplay trailers!? Stupid game developers, I want pre-rendered trailers that give absolutely no indication of what the game will be like!
Anyway so I'm guessing the awesome looking current-gen Indiana Jones game that used Euphoria has been scrapped in favour of one with waggle... Fantastic...

Interesting that we get this instead of the one for 360 or PS3. I guess they are just throwing us a bone until they actually come out with the proper one for the 2 big systems. I'm thinking this take place before temple of doom.

Even for pre-rendered that looks a little better than I thought the Wii capable of. Not that it isn't capable of graphic splendor (on a reduced scale,) but there haven't been many Wii games even on par with Resident Evil Remake and 4 for Gamecube. I'm rating this one, "cautiously optimistic" since the character seems to move with a kind of fluid gracelessness. If that's based on the actual in game motion, I'll be a happy camper.

The xbox could do pre rendered video like this. The PS2 could and even the Gamecube could do pre rendered video. It's PRE RENDERED, meaning it doesn't reflect the capabilities of the game engine or platform, just the PC it compiled it's shots from.

PC and possibly taking hours to generate each frame. (Okay maybe not in this case, it wasn't movie quality.)
Since it's supposedly coming out in the not too distant future, I wish they could have given us at least one or two seconds of actual gameplay. That sort of suggests the actual game looks pretty awful, no?
