"Stalker movement enabled in cooperative games"

Surprised that wasn't mentioned in the article. It's a big thing!!

I think that is one of the biggest things in this update. I may just go through some more coop to see this in action!

Too bad they are not fixing the medic damage upgrade. It really sucks.

You can play Deathmatch with your party. You just can't take a party into matchmaking a free for all game.

The reason I see behind the developers disabling this option is so players don't stat pad by filling up a party and taking turns getting kills or whatnot since they'd be the only ones in the FFA. It limits abuse, in other words, and I think it's fair.

"Balanced the amount of XP gained by the Medic class in cooperative games"

What does that mean? More XP or less? Medic was the fastest XP gainer for me. If they're cutting it back, I'm glad it's already maxed out.

I'm already level 28, so it won't matter to me much, but I'm not sure the medic needs balancing.

If you've ever played with a high level group where the Spec Ops don't act like pinheads, you may have found out that the medic can easily be the LEAST earner in the group already.

It all depends on who you play with.

Really, they should fix the burning car exploit and leave the rest alone.

I agree. In the beginner levels, Medics earn insane amouts of XP but once Soldiers and Specs get their upgrades, there isn't much healing to be done.

Dunno, but I've been nailed by the corrupted data crap after putting in about 55 hours and I haven't touched it since. Now that they are giving me my levels back, I might actually play it again. I loved Co-Op. It reminds me of the Co-Op mode in UT2004 where you have to survive multiple swarms of enemies.

They better have fixed the problem of split screen co-op stats not saving...

That's coming.

The reason it's not saving at the moment is because the PS3 doesn't currently support the ability to log into multiple PSN accounts at once, and as all the stats are saved online, this obviously makes it impossible for player 2 to level up.

An upcoming firmware will fix this though. Insomniac have said its coming 'soon'.

It seems that you can do this in Little Big Planet already and that came out before Resistance 2.

I just hope they fix it soon.

The PS3 CAN log in multiple accounts at once, it's just that the way that R2 saves data (onto the hard drive as opposed to online) makes it impossible to access your account information from another PS3. Insomniac did say that if Sony issued a firmware update that allowed this they'd bring it in, we just have to wait for that to happen.

The linked article mentions that Insomniac was waiting for a firmware update that allowed this. And they say they just got it (presumably 2.6), so the feature will be coming at some point, but not in this release.

I thought LBP was signed in on the other PSN name as well but turns out it doesnt....they say it doesnt save any stats online at this momment meaning trophies only are capable for the main account......

the way they ar etrying to do it in R2 will save the XP and kill info, etc on the R2 Servers, so that when the player signs into R2 from their account then it will update all the stats and give them any trophies that deal with server information...

There is also a glitch were people are being awared the elite soldier medal and yet they haven't got the 10 kills in a row ribbon to prove it. And the maruder glitch were you get 5 to 6 marauder kill count for ever 1 true marauder kill you got. Anyways...this update is well needed and good for the ones still playing this game, I only have about 600 kills more to go then I get my platinum trophy for this game, and I don't see myself playing this game again......ever!

"Those that acquired the 10,000 kills necessary for the Killing Machine Trophy will automatically unlock it once the 1.40 patch is applied." What does that mean? Will I get the Killing Machine Trophy automatically by 1.40 patch if I don't achieve that trophy yet?

It means that if you have 10,000 kills and you don't have the trophy then this patch will fix that. If you don't have the 10,000 kills then you don't get the trophy.

@kentuckyfried
Warhawk had retroactive trophies. There were basically two types of trophies: Those where you have to do specific tasks in-game and then those that are just based on your online stats and medals. The latter of the two were retroactive.

For example, Hat Trick (3 flag captures in single round of CTF) is not retroactive, but Chief Sergeant (Achieve rank of Chief Sergeant) is.

@Hyams: This is my first comment on this site but what are you talking about? LittleBigPlanet has had this feature since the beta was available so it's not Sony's fault this time, they're just using it as an excuse. But oh well there are plenty other games I can waste my money on for good co-op games like COD, etc...

I have like 27% trophies in this game. It shows that when I view my own trophies but when I compare trophies with someone else it shows that I have like 6%, I've confirmed that others see this the same way when they compare with me. I hope this gets fixed in the patch.

I'm blind if I haven't seen this fix in the list mentioned above yet, but I like to stick to the same party after a match in Co-op mode. Some of the people are fun and very team friendly and I would like to stay with the same people but different maps. Please, Insomniac, I would like this feature implemented!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!

Yeah, I agree with John. I hate that after every matchmaking round I get kicked back out to the main menu. Just pick another one, same as the last. If I want to switch, give me a few little time to quit out. Just like Call of Duty, Halo,...hell just like Resistance: Fall of Man.

By the way, I just picked up Little Big Planet. Traded an extra copy of Resistance 2 for it. Can't wait to try it out!

If it's one thing that MGO does right (it does many things well and other games would do well to borrow those features), it's the ability to tag people in the lobby as "friends" so that you can find them in other rounds and then jump directly into those rounds as well.

I suppose this could lead to alot of abuse (say, somebody has it in for you and follows you around to TK you), but I've not heard of any such thing thus far since the game's release last year.

Kudos to insomniac for keeping up the support. I remember when I first got the game, I wouldn't play competitive mulitplayer because the second of two games after matchmaking was always unbalanced with the losing team leaving, that was fixed, and the competitive fixes here are both good.

The continued support makes me think DLC is in the future.

Awesome, now the class that doesn't get much better as it levels up gets nerfed. From an average 25K+ experience per game to less than 10K; is there any incentive for using Medic at all now?
