Sony not holding up warrenty claims is a very real problem for the Playstation devision. My PS3 gave up it's ghost when trying to play a game, first the drive went out and then it wouldn't boot up properly. Despite it being covered Sony said I'd have to pay 160 dollars in repair charges plus shipping.

Obviously I said nuts to that and just repackaged it and returned it to a retail store and got a new one but I shouldn't have to do that.

@fabian, et al.
Thinking the PS3 is the best choice doesn't require thinking the 360 is a bad one. Of course it's all going to be subjective anyway, but I also think the PS3 is the best choice; it has the most complete hardware package, great exclusives, HD movies, free online play. The 360 also has good exclusives and it has a fancy online system which I'll admit is good even if I'm hesitant to give them any more money for it. I'm a little annoyed that I had to rig a router to have wireless and that a controller+battery is $65 where a new dualshock is $50. That's what tips the scales for me. I've also preferred the PS3's exclusives, but there's no quantifiable enjoyment units, so saying both systems have good games is about as far as that goes for me.

Anyway, aside from spreading the love, if you're actually thinking of picking up a PS3 I'd suggest you take a look at Valkyria Chronicles. It's a great game and it's flying way too far under the radar, kind of like what happened to Okami.

All I wish for is for the PS3 to have a price drop already. I bought one console for $400, I'm not buying another the same price, regardless if it has bluray, wifi, free multiplayer, a free farmer's daughter etc.

"Why it will break just outside of warranty"

The PS3 is a damn tank. Yeah, they break sometimes, but not half as often as the console you hail as your God.

"has shitty multi-platform games"

I have plenty of multi-platform games. I haven't played a single 'shitty' one that wasn't shitty on the 360 as well.

"weak exclusives"

Where were you during 2008?

"etc. Don't waste your money."

Folks, don't waste your time. This guy's a dumbass. Hell, you can tell by his post history that he doesn't even read the articles - he just jumps in to troll if the PS3 is mentioned.

You might think the PS3 is the best choice, and you might not - but all things considered, the world is choosing the 360 over the PS3 right now.

Your one of those "Blind Fanboys trying to justify their purchase". You may say the 360 is better, but only because its the only one you have, and you don't want to feel bad knowing you purchased the wrong system. BUT you didn't, since both systems are good. So heed my advice and STOP FUCKING TROLLING YOU SON OF A BITCH

How can you know about the games on the PS3 if you don't even have one? I have a PS3 and a stand with right now about 15 or 16 games. All of them are great. You just have to look at reviews a bit and see if you will like them. I never go out and buy a game before I check some sites about reviews. Oh, and that thing it being expensive is really not true. If you would add all the things you miss in the Xbox that you have in the PS3, the Xbox is quite a bit more expensive.

BTW sorry for asking this, as I am new here, what's up with all those Mario avatars?!

they are the avatar u get if you dont add any yourself
and I know what games are on the ps3 a lot of my friends have them that's why I was even considering buying one. And also the only real thing that pisses me off people are like ps3 has blu-ray and im like yes it does but does anyone really want to spend $30 on a blu-ray disc, I know I dont I would rater buy a game than two movies.

Hot damn.

Usually I'm not too much of a graphics whore, but damn, that's good. Assuming those aren't bullshots (the source says they're direct feed) those are some of, if not the best screenies I've seen this gen.

If the first was any indicator, this game'll be fantastic. Visuals look top notch, and it's supposed to be building upon the foundation set by the first in terms of the gameplay - the gameplay in Drake's Fortune was damn good, so I'm excited for this.

Between the three systems I'm gonna have a hard time choosing shit this year. I need a new job :[

Great, you have all three systems. Good luck making those choices because even if you could afford all the games you wanted, you couldn't possibly have the time to play them all.

But, at least you have choices despite making it harder for you to make one, right!? That's textbook irony right there.

Having 3 systems is a good thing. You don't have to buy all the AAA titles out there, only the ones you are interested in. This year there's like 6 games tops across the 3 plats I'm personally interested in. (most being multiplat tho).

The first Uncharted was excellent, but I forgot why I stopped playing. I think MGS4 came out and shoved it aside, and I simply haven't gone back to it.

Well, whatever, I'll finish it soon enough...hopefully before Uncharted 2 comes out.

Its great that you didn't like the demo and then judged the game - because I didn't like the demo either when I tried it. Of course, I got the game anyway recently and enjoyed the hell out of it.

So, as someone in your position previously, I can tell you that you don't have the proper basis to judge why the rest of us like the series so far. It was a good game.

I really want to know why people like this series so much. I played the demo for the first one and could not stand how guys can take 10 bullets in the head before they die. I mean, it just gets ridiculous when you run out of ammo because the enemies are like tanks. I don't think I'll ever forget, I saw a video where they said that the enemies actually had MORE health before the game came out.

it just turned into a series...

but the first one was an enjoyable game to many, including myself. if it took you 10 headshots, i'm not sure you were actually hitting them in the head - i never experienced anything quite like that.

the ammo scarcity was an issue at times, but that's another aspect of it - make your shots count. overall, it was enjoyable and the shooting / exploration was divied up well in my book. others are free to (and most definitely will) disagree.

Apparently you just suck. A headshot was a one hit kill. They could take 3 shots to the chest. I will say that the demo wasn't a good representation. I didn't like the demo, but the game is my favorite of the generation.

I can assure you many dumb assholes, that I was indeed hitting the enemies in the head. The only way that it is possible that I was not hitting them in the head is that the game doesn't recognize where the reticule is at or that the bullets don't actually hit where they show they hit. So it's either that the enemies don't die or the game just sucks really bad. I have no problem shooting dudes in the head in other games, including Rainbow Six with those games' expanding reticule.

I have the complete opposite happen to me. I read many comments on Joystiq of how hard it is to kill enemies, when I essentially have stuck to the pistol this whole time. Headshots usually lead to a one-hit kill for me.

Not saying you're wrong, but it's weird that I don't seem to have that problem.

Okay, your right. My entire time playing video games and getting headshots in all those shooters over the years, just hasn't given me the skill to shoot one guy in the head in Uncharted. Yeah, your right, it all makes sense now. That is not the biggest load of bs that could possibly come out of your mouth. I mean, when you're right, you're right. I'm sorry.

You must be doing something wrong then... usually only takes me one shot to the head and maybe 2-5 to the chest depending on the gun. Perhaps you are a lousy shot? Might I suggest the grenade launcher or LMG?

And if you are referring to singleplayer I don't really know of any single player game that doesn't increase the health of the AI as a substitute for better AI. In multiplayer it isn't a problem because the enemy is an irrational target that can't easily be predicted (assuming you are playing a somewhat-conscious gamer).

I got the demo n wasn't so keen either, can't remember the exact niggles I had, think it was the control's. But then my friend shoved Uncharted and a few others on me, and the full game is awesome, pretty good story (if a bit weird at the end), fun game play and good look's, this game had it all.
Oh n I'm appalling at shooter's(As I'm regularly told "You couldn't hit the broad-side of a barn with a homing missile launcher"), but found Uncharted relatively easy going.
Honest, grab the game (it's like £20 or less now) it's fun and awesome, you will not be disapointed.

No, he's right about FC2. The amount of bullets some enemies take is absurd. A sniper to the head is generally a one hit kill, but unless you're point blank, a gun like the MAC 10 may take an entire clip to kill someone if you're just aimed at the body. I pretty much just use a sniper for that reason now. Seriously, try an auto at a range of like 50 feet and see what happens.

As for Uncharted, like everyone else, never had any issues with headshots. Always a one-hit kill.

Oh, and I forgot to add, you can put an entire MAC 10 clip into someone and watch them fall... only to them watch them get back up. And, even more strange, is that it doesn't seem consistent. Sometimes someone will a take a few bullets and die, other times they take and entire clip, and at other times they'll take an entire clip and then get back up and take a few more.

The issue was what LOOKED like a headshot actually wasn't. I had that happen to me time and time again, the game would make it look like a headshot, but it was actually a bit low or hit him in the shoulder. An actual headshot definitey kills in one shot.
