Super-sized Burnout Paradise update detailed, coming Feb. 6

Burnout Paradise's first-ever premium content pack is coming February 6, and even if you aren't willing to dole out the dead presidents, Criterion's giving you another reason to mark that date. Coming alongside the Party Pack DLC is a rather hefty title update ... and it's free!

Highlights include an in-game store, in-game access to the Criterion Games Network website (details to come; PC and PS3-only), enhanced visuals, a restart event option (yay!), easier barrel rolls and some vehicle and game mode tweaking. I've got to admit, even tho I don't have the game, I'm really impressed with the amount of support and love Criterion has given it.

I bought the game recently (the download variant) and feel as if the game feels unfinished and a bit sloppy. I understand how early adopters might feel happier since they have received free revisions to date. But as a new owner of the game I'm not very impressed.

I should add that I do enjoy the game. It is fun.

maybe it would feel more solid if you bought it on disc?

Yeah, I completely agree. They have given some fantastic updates. I think I'll pick it up this weekend. (It's like 20$ here)

Just bought it this weekend and it's the most fun I've ever had with $20.00, I'm thinking I should have bought it a long time ago, and I'm SUPER STOKED that they are still updating this game!! Once I get all the trophies Ill prolly hit up the paid DLC.

Holy crap all these late Jan/ early Feb. DLC goodness is almost too much!

A restart event option??? Ok, NOW I'll go ahead and buy it. Though do I go for the downloadable PS3 version or the better online-support 360 version? Decisions, decisions.

I think PS3 is the way to go for this one, and that's coming from an owner of the 360 version.

But, it depends on how many friends you have that own this game and will race against you, because that's the most awesome thing about the game.

the online support for the PS3 version is just as good as the 360 why would you think it wasn't?

because the PSN supposedly sucks, i've been told. Not sure what they are talking about but it's what they say.

Not that the online support for the PS3 is bad, it's just that I have more friends on the 360 and I find it's easier to invite/chat/party up on the 360. I'm leaning towards to PS3 version though just cause I wouldn't have to swap out the disc, and all that HDD space is crying out to be used.

Ditto, regarding the restart option. I said I'd be the first person to buy it and I intend to keep my promise.

If you'd played it, you'd know the online works the same on both. Exactly the same. Inviting, partying up, etc. All the same.

I guess I wouldnt be able to tell how good 360's Live is but I dont know why people are complaining about PSN. I don't have a slight problem with it. I dont have any problems partying up with a friend. Best of all its FREE! How good is 360's live?

God I love Criterion. They just continue to pour it out! They rock face!

And as Obie said above... all this Late Jan/Early Feb DLC goodness is perhaps too much to handle! I need to get lucky and pick up a bunch of point cards from Circuit City for 30% off!

I always like to take this opportunity to plug for the Criterion Ulitmate Box releasing probably the same day as this pack.

I am buying their DLC on principle alone. Company is really good at standing by its products. Go Criterion!!!

I played the demo and hated the fact that you couldn't restart a race from the pause menu. You had to physically drive back to the event again. Now that they're putting this feature in I'm totally getting this.

One of my last gripes was that restart thing, the other being the crappy "Crash" mode.

But hey, for less than $20 from GameFly, I'll take it.

After a year of asking, we get a restart option. Not complaining, just pointing it out.

FINALLY A EVENT RESTART OPTION!!!! Jeeez this shouldve been on the game since day 1, having to drive allll the way across the city to restart an event was just too annoying. But its all good now with all the stuff they have coming out for it. I'm glad I still have this game on me.

I just started playing this again this week after all the hype the new cars and content was getting. Now I'm EXTREMELY happy that I'll be able to do the restart event option. That will make me want to complete this game...

I'm definitely glad about the event restart option, but I'm also looking forward to the increased visibility of the billboards, smashes, and ramps.

Now I REALLY wish that that Ultimate box was coming to 360. I might actually need to get this game finally... with or without Party Crash.

I'm really glad I didn't get it now that the Ultimate version's coming out. I'll be getting that as soon as it's released, since I played a friend's game loads and loved it.

THIS is the way DLC should be done too... Mostly free with a few cheap add-ons. Not $20 for a short extra story line...

Did you read the REAL list of what's coming in the GTA update? Because it is a lot.
New minigames, your 'brothers' in the gang get bonuses if you keep them alive for missions, new weapons, new vehicles, and oh yeah a new story.

I just went downstairs and re-bought (for $24 new) the game JUST because I can restart the races now. If only they would add gigantic arrows on the street for where I need to turn so I don't have to take my eyes off the road to look at a map and they will have the best Burnout ever!

Yeah...that too would make up for the lack of close circuits...

The street sign and your car's turn signal blink when a turn is coming up.

Finally! A restart button :P I've deleted my save twice already just to start over... Once when I got bored, and the second time when the trophies patch came :D -_- It's nice how they have that option now...

I think they just got a sale from me! I'd been looking it at lately and this removes any doubts I had about it.

Seriously, it took me a while to get into this game but eventually I saw it for the gem that it is.
I'm so glad by buddy gave it to me for free (lunch).

this game is one of the best bangs for the buck i've seen in years. It's a lot of fun, and the free updates just keeps making it better

Okay, so I have the 1.6 patch. I love all the improvements. But how do I restart an event? I've tried failing the event, I've searched through the pause menu, I've tried just stopping my car. I can't find the Restart Event option that's supposed to be there now? Help Please!

Gex, I'm having the same issues and I've searched the Internets and can't seem to find an answer. We can't be the only ones having this issue. Hopefully someone can find an answer.

Gex, the information I received is that you have to press right on the D-pad to invoke a restart; there isn't any visual cue during or following a race that let's you know how to restart. I don't recall seeing anything I read about the patch that tells you to do that, so I'm not sure how anyone would have known. Hope this helps, I haven't tested it yet (stuck at work).

At what exact time and day are the legendary car, toy cars and big surf coming out i already downloaded the party pack yesterday. Thanks
