Huh. I didn't know this finally came out. I'll have to pick it up this weekend, as I've been looking forward to it.

I'm not sure it did. I got mine from UFO Interactive, but the retail release date keeps changing. Now Gamestop says it ships TODAY.

Weird. Amazon says it's In Stock, though, if anyone wants to go that route.

I might have to wait until the currency recovers a bit before importing this. Then again, this might be one of those games that becomes a little harder to find a few months down the line.

Radio Allergy looks really cool, and I've had my eye on it for a real long time, but I'm not sure whether I've got the heart for tough shooting games anymore.

"including many of the best games in the genre's history" can someone please tell me where Duck Hunt is? Seriously, that should have been the first VC game.

Duck Hunt isn't a shmup It's a lightgun shooter.

I certainly hope this is coming to PAL-land; otherwise I'll have to pay silly money to get the Japanese import...

Who decided to name this "Ultimate Shooting Collection"?,
no bloody way are these games anywhere near the best in their genre.

What shmups, available for Wii/WiiWare/VC, would you say are the best? (It's an honest question -- I'd like to get one or two and am soliciting suggestions.)

Braeburn, one shooter that I've really enjoyed on VC is called "Blazing Lazers", it's a pretty cool vertical shooter with neat stacking powerups. You can get some pretty cool abilities if you keep collecting the right icons.

Also, "Air Zonk" is a fun side-scrolling shooter with bright cartoony graphics which feel like a nice change of pace from the oftentimes darker palette shooters seem to stick to.

I've got to say, I myself was never much into shooters, but with all of them on the VC, I've given some of them a try and been pleasantly surprised. That being said, I may have to skip this title, as I really don't care for the "bullet hell" games, like Ikaruga and the like.
