This will be my 5th fire emblem game actually. I'm excited. I've beaten both GBA games the gamecube and Wii one. I'm a big fan.

Same here. I was actually convinced by my little brother that Fire Emblem was a good game, even though when I was younger, I only had enough money to buy one game. I bought it, and lost many night's sleep because of it!

This is will be my fourth FE, but I only barely count the GameCube once since I only played one battle. It's a good series, and I'm glad it's back to the DS. Just seems like a better choice than on consoles. I just prefer turn-based strategy games on portables, where I can put the game on hold at any time.

I've played all the Fire Embelms out in America. Its my favorite srpg franchise (even beats out Disgaea, which the prinnies on my t-shirts frown upon). Im happy for the chance to play as Marth

I missed out on Fire Emblems 7 & 8 on GBA (mostly because from early 2003 onward, i had time only for Phantasy Star Online), but then started with Fire Emblem 9 on GC (being well into the GameCube's dying drought, and since i was never into Resident Evil, it was my only option), but it wound up being my favorite game of 2005, and i eagerly picked up the sequel in 07, and will eagerly pick this up

My first Fire Emblem was Blazing Sword for GBA, though the only one I own is The Sacred Stones. I really want the one with Lyn on my collection, it feels much more interesting for some reason.

Sorry to slap this but I am really not that excited for this Fire Emblem, mainly because they exchanged the beautiful pixel-art for disgusting pre-rendered stuff.

My first Fire Emblem was FE7 for the GBA, and since then I've played all other ones released in NA thus far. I have unrealistically-high expectations for each Fire Emblem game because FE7 left an impression on me deep enough for me to consider it my second or third-favorite game of all time, so I'm going into FE11 with modest hopes. I know most of the important characters and whatnot from reading up on FE fansites in years past, but this is my first time actually playing either of the two FE games that star Marth.

I've read a lot of European reviews of the game from long-time Fire Emblem fans and the recurring theme seems to be "remember that this is a remake of an NES game", with complaints of shallower story, flat characters, etc. As much as I value the narrative aspect of FE I can live with that as long as the gameplay remains untouched.

Good, bad, or average, I'm just glad that we're getting it at all, as it was seeming there for some time that Nintendo was going to do with this what they did with Disaster and Fatal Frame =/

I should also mention that just an hour ago I got an email from Amazon saying that FE's release date has been pushed back and that the estimated delivery date is March 6th. Thanks a million for pushing FE into the same month as Pokemon Platinum, Avalon Code, and Dark Spire, Nintendo. Do you WANT to ensure that it sells poorly?

A few months before Radiant Dawn came out for Wii I bought a used copy of the GameCube game.

I didn't really care for it.

I'm not sure what my problem is. The only tactics game that I've enjoyed was Final Fantasy Tactics on the PS1. I loved that game and even spent the time to level up all my characters to master all the classes before finishing the game.

I played a lot of FFT Advance (GBA) but ultimately never finished it. I also tried out FFTA2 (DS) but lost interest after the first few battles.

Then when I played Fire Emblem (GCN) I just didn't like it at all.

I've also tried other tactics games, such as Disgaea (DS), Luminous Arc (DS), and . . . that's all I can think of but I'm sure there were a few more. Ultimately they all have the same problem: 20 minutes of dialog before, after, in between, and sometimes during battles and 50 minute battles. (I know I'm exaggerating a little there.)

I just can't get myself interested in that kind of gameplay anymore. I'm not willing to spend an hour just for one battle.

On the other hand, these kinds of games are great to play while laying down in bed. They put me to sleep really fast, and I'm an insomniac, so that's saying something.

I played the first game in the US by other means, but ended up buying The Sacred Stones & Path of Radiance. However I never finished them. Recently I just ordered Shadow Dragon, and I plan to actually finish this one!

Fire Emblem on the DS was my first go at this series. I love it. I regret never playing the Gamecube versions (and my cube is long gone sigh..). I plan on playing the GBA games once I finish this one. It's a great game and is perfect for a handheld. Are there any games similar to Fire Emblem that I have missed on the DS or GBA?

I've played all of the games in the series, though I have a horribly low amount of experience with 4 and 5.

Favorite so far has been 6 where my least favorite was 9.

Never played any of them but I like SRPGs, so I'll probably have to check this one out. Never had a GBA.

I have played and beat all the Fire Emblem games that came out in the US, and I've even played the fan translations of Fire Emblem 6 (Roy) and whichever one was completely translated for the SNES. Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword (the first one that came out in America) still is my favorite one. I'm actually pretty excited for Shadow Dragon because I main Marth in Super Smash Bros. Melee, and I've been wondering how his games in the series were like.

I played all fire emblems already, including this one on it's original form in the nes, and the remake on the snes.

Now I can play a legal translation of the game, wich is way better (for the story, I won't use new name for ym characters, because I'm used to the old ones)

Well, I got it already.

My first Fire Emblem was Path of Radiance for Gamecube, and I played the life out of that game. I have always been a big fan of strategy games, and Fire Emblem is one of the best. I'm excited for the DS release.

Played the first one on GBA up to about half way through, at which point I was up against a battle I couldn't beat and would have to restart the game to level up my army better. So that was end of my interest in the series.

I'm not into strategy games, but if I ever try one it'll probably be this or the GBA version. Well, or maybe Warsong on the Genny.

I still think they make a horrible choice going to the old pre-rendered look from the the more bright and anime hand drawn look. It completely kills the interest for me in the game compared to the GBA and gamecube games.

Such a bad move in my opinion.

I became a big fire emblem fan when I played FE7 & 8 for the GBA. I never played 9 because I never had a GC (might pick it up if I see it used now that I have a Wii), but I'm now playing through 10 and have this one preordered. In general I love SRPGs, and EF is one of my favourite franchises.
