I'm not really bothered. Gears 2 has really been the subject of hate ever since it's release, so I think releasing a 3rd patch will hardly impress anyone...

oh well.....

I hope Lag switching is in that list.

"two-piece" is when someone runs up to you and bashes you and while you are stunned immediately shoots you with a shotgun, resulting in your body being split into two, or being "two-pieced"

Don't take away my two-piecing! I know its prob a noob tactic, but its so satisfying.

and @Mark, two-piece is when you melee someone and shoot them with the shotgun.

They need to tone down the lancer as well.

This is the new shotgun, ie gears of war 1 overpowered weapon.

IMO two piecing is by far the lesser of two evils when it comes to the 2piece and the chainsaw.
At least it involves some level of effort by the player but the chainsaw is much more unfair.
Hold B and you can run through a hail of bullets and chainsaw a guy even though he's been shooting the whole time.

I don't like either of these methods but if you're going to favour the worst of the two then I'm gonna come down there with a really big rusty cheese grater. Fix them both. Thank you and fuck off epic.

Little too late, even if they patch it I probably won't be back to play, and that likely goes for a lot more people than just myself.

I wish they had an old school mode (without grenade wall sticking).

i hope they make it so that if the host quits that it goes to someone else, and how about its someone stand-bys it would do something to stop the person who is stand-bying cuz its bull.

okay to fix the lag and lagswtching for good BRING BACK THE CONNECTION ERROR from gears 1...

I am a very loyal Gears 1 player:

I couldn't be more disappointed with Gears 2 multiplayer. Even after the first two patches nothing seems terribly different. Smokes are still annoying as hell, waiting to get into a match still takes forever, most the weapons seem horribly unbalanced, I get matched with foreigners all the time and to top it off the lag is worse than ever. The problems are compounded because they TOOK AWAY the server browser from gears 1 so I can't pick the match length, number of rounds, game type or anything, I just get shoveled into a game I don't want to play. Then, once the match starts a few people quit and I'm left in a 2 vs 5 king of the hill.

It's RIDICULOUS how terrible the multiplayer experience is. I tried playing 10 matches today and never got into a game that was fun at all. I can't understand what Epic did with their extra 60 million that microsoft gave them to get this game out in November. Maybe their high salary employee's like Cliffy and Mark Rein are now able to buy a few more sports cars or something, because they certainly didn't spend the money on hiring people to get this game to work. I would have waited another year to buy it rather than play this buggy, laggy piece of trash.

Feel free to include free HDD space on some server Epic as all the number of patches needed to fix this game will fill my 20gig!

Smoke grenades definitely need to be toned down. Or, you know, just eliminated from the game.

Epic, maybe you can work on not breaking things that aren't broken, and work on fixing the stupid things.

When I go to play against bots, it should not take 4 shotgun hits to the chest to down them, especially when, after 4 said hits, they turn around and blow me to bits with one.

This, just fyi, is with casual bots.

Why does it have to be so complicated? Just let me do player matches!! I don't care about matchmaking, I just want to play with people for more than 1 round, and NOT against people that take it too seriously. I don't want to care about rank!

I never played ranked in Gears 1, and it's stupid that we're forced to do so in gears 2.

I would love, LOVE, LOVE this game if player matches were an option. Whenever I play private with people, it's a bucketload of fun. It really is. But I don't have 9 people that can drop everything and play with me. 5, sure - but 9?

Epic really did drop the ball. The lag in this game is just stupid which would probably be sorted with halos system of matchmaking, region specific searches and good connection only settings. (also a 20 second waiting time at the end of a match before I can do anything else is just fucking stupid)

I loved gears 1, played it alot online. I thought gears 2 would rekindle that love...it didn't.

What really bugs me is the total lack of UT3 support on the 360. No DLC at all. Where's all that "best of mods" that Epic was promising to give us in exchange for not having built-in mod support?

Smoke grenades need fixing. They should tone it down to a knock back or something so that way you are still standing and able to fire your weapon. Something doesnt have you sitting on the floor for 30 seconds as the enemy team just stands there and picks you off.
