I am undoubtedly buying this rather splendid game as i feel it would be a worthwhile purchase in my humble opinion. My reasons to justify this claim are as follows: The game has terrific value as a game which can not only be played by one's self but also as a group which is a worthy attribute. I believe the game called Midnight Club:Los Angeles was a lovely game yet I can't help feeling that it lacked in the areas of playing with other human beings which Burnout excels at. In conclusion I would sum up my feelings by saying I found the person beneath my hillarious, witty and very amusing. I am off for crumpets and tea now, taraa.

@Required ya... but those advertisements would make them money even if they never released a single free DLC pack.

Companies are releasing content that was originally going to be in the game, that they pulled out of the game, and charging us for it.

Criterion are adding added value for the consumer, at no cost to the consumer. They could have left Burnout alone and have a decent title in and of itself, instead they keep giving us reasons to play it again because they keep adding new things and features. In order for a free market to work properly people must support the companies doing good things, and avoid/boycott the companies that are doing shady practices.

Also @linebeginstoblur you are a man who is not afraid to admit a lack of friends. I too must admit that I have virtually no friends (No one has come over to visit me since October and my birthday was a few days ago) so I entirely share your sentiment. What a lot of people don't realize is that they don't have friends either. There is a VERY big difference between a friend and someone you know/hang out with.

We have acquaintances and we have friends. Some people classify their acquaintances as friends. I don't have any friends either, just a lot of acquaintances almost all of which have abandoned me because they aren't friends.

I wasn't really planning on getting this, since I don't have much of any friends and my family never plays games, so why would I pay for a multiplayer mode when I only ever use single-player anyway?

Well, I do have a reason. Even if I never use Party, Criterion deserves that money anyway for what they've already done for free. NO one else would EVER make an entire mode like Burnout Bikes and release it for free. NO ONE.

And think about it, the biggest complaint about Paradise, the lack of the ability to instantly restart levels... is coming in a free patch!

Where other developers release something, add stability patches here and there and then instantly work on the next $60 game, I find it interesting how Criterion have been giving nonstop support to this one game. Why release a new Burnout game with bikes when you can just patch it? Why release a multiplayer Burnout game when you can just patch it? Not to mention that you can get this game for $20-30 now. It would be better for them to make a new game for $60, but no, they're more concerned with giving the best experience to consumers for the best price. Wow. :)

I know what you mean...It almost seems too noble of them to do what they have been doing. How could they be making money if they keep releasing free things like bikes.

They must be making money some how though or else they wouldn't be doing it. It would be waaaay to optimistic to hope that other companies follow suit, but I hope they can prove that it is a profitable way to operate so we see more of this. Go Criterionyou guys are awesome.

Does anyone else think it's ironic that EA distribute this game that has all this free DLC, and Need for Speed which charges you to unlock stuff already on the disc...makes you wonder....

@nakedatthecomp
I'm generally an honest person. I realize some things I say can and will be used against me, but sometimes, I just feel like coming out with it.

That said, yes, I have few friends. I do have a couple who have PS3s, but they're almost never online. And the only guy who has come over to my place to play games in the past few months doesn't have a PS3, so he just preferred the chance to play R&CF and DMC4 by himself.

I disagree as the game is full of advertisements of which they're profiting off of our eyes viewing.

I'm buying every thing that Criterion Games launches for Burnout Paradise, just to show the appreciation and thanks. The stuff that they launched for free is unbelievable.

I bought this game after I saw how much DLC kept coming out for it, and I'm thrilled that more keeps coming! good job Criterion, keep it up. I'm sure your DLC's probably doubled what the game sales would have been if they were DLC-free :)

Criterion definitely deserves acclaim for their dedication to this title. I bought the disc on release day, which I just gave to my brother for Christmas, and then bought the downloadable version when it came out, so I can load it onto both of my PS3s at the same time. I don't know how much I'll use the "Party Pack," but they deserve the support, and hopefully other developers will take notice that proper post-release support will have people jumping at the chance to give them money.

I've said this before but with the amount of in game advertising this game should be almost free.

I don't like the music (actually I loath it), I don't like the "dj" (voice and script) and I hate crashing into ads (billboards and vans).

If I knew then what I know now I probably wouldn't have bought the game (maybe if it was half price).

DJ can be turned off, you can use a custom soundtrack if you like instead of the official track list.

I don't mind the ads to be honest, there not too much in your face, i would 100% take ads rather than paying for DLC any day.

Stop being bitchy, Burnout Paradise doesn't has that much advertising and even so what's wrong with it? it's not like it affects gameplay.

Also, you DO know that you can play your own custom tracks (from your HDD) right? if you didn't, you're a complete whining idiot.

If you don't like crashing into things or traffic, go buy Mario Kart and GTFO.

I'm sorry but I will NOT buy this just to show support. I would have paid for past dlc but I will not "show support" for dlc I don't like or want. That sends a message of "release more dlc like this" and if you don't like it why would you want more?

Stunt park, will gladly pay. New cars, will gladly pay. Lame Party Pack, no way. The better this pack sells the less time they will be working on better DLC you may actually want to buy and play and the more time they will spend on Party Pack additions.

Oh and another reason this pack bugs me is that it flies in the face of what they have been saying since day one and their anti menu attitude. People wanted a way to pick any car and not drive around to the JY but that would involve a menu and that is a no go. People want a menu to just select a race and that is a no go. So many things people wanted but no go because it would break "immersion" with menus. Well this flies in the face of that because it is so menu heavy. So now that they seem to be ok with menus, let us pick the race and the cars we want from a menu so we can finally just jump in and do what we want instead of roaming around in an empty city. That is yet another dlc I would glady pay for.

Even though I just posted pretty much the same thing below you, I agree completely. Burnout is always such a thrill. Traveling to every event and car switch kills it for me.

Hm, could be fun.

I still go to Burnout 3: Takedown for my Burnout fix. Paradise is alright, but I like the simplicity of choosing cars/events/tracks rather than zooming around the open world. It's a damned cool idea, but I much prefer menus.
