Spotted: Miniature Halo 3: ODST box art [update]

Update: As has been pointed out, the ODST box art appears on the Xbox.com XBLM as seen here. But we demand an even higher resolution shot. Microsoft has been contacted and we await a response.

Using our almost inhuman investigative skills, we've turned up the very first picture of the official Halo 3: ODST box art which should receive thunderous applause and praise from Halo fanboys the world over. But the news won't receive said applause and we won't receive said praise, because the box art picture is a wee-bit tiny. So miniature that the picture you see above is the actual size.

We're still trying to track down an embiggened version, but for now, take comfort in knowing that ODST's cover isn't going to feature rainbows or unicorns. Instead, it'll be 100% Halo l33tness.

So if it's "actual size" will it change depending my resolution?

Actual size would be the actual 1:1 pixel representation of the source material. If you were to change your monitor's resolution to something lower (1600x1200 to 1024x768 for example), the image would "change size" because your monitor would be essentially interpolating or upsampling the display. Fewer pixels of data would display on the same real-world space and the image would look bigger. It wouldn't look any better or sharper, though.

Semantics - 1:1 pixel mapping is not the same as actual size. Just saying. If he had said said, "Actual size on a 19" Widescreen monitor with a resolution of 1600 x 900" then I couldn't argue.

Halo 3: Recon and Halo 3: ODST are the EXACT same thing by the way. It was originaly going to be called Halo 3: Recon but they changed the name to Halo 3: ODST. Yes, this box art was released a LOOOONG time ago, maybe two or three months ago? So a retarded "Good job!" for you Xbox 360 Fanboy, go live in your old people home filled with your nostalgic old people memories such as this box art.

Not to sound like a broken record but I remember the box art being revealed a while ago too.

Way to up your writing quota for the day Dustin. It's fake. Easily Photoshoped as ODST looks tacked on with a bad font and we've seen the cover when it was Recon.

Haha, the white lettering does look a little cheap. Like they should add a "Now with more Teabag!" sticker.

Microsoft stopped using the "XBOX LIVE" text in the top right and switched to "LIVE" almost a year ago. That picture was also the first art that they released. I remember it saying something about "display only" or "not final artwork." Who knows though. I thought Halo 3's box art was crappy, maybe ODST will follow.
