You know, sometime in de future.
In response to solid sales enjoyed by its squishy, Wii roll-playing game, publisher THQ has hinted that de Blob may be changing status from quirky once-off to lovable franchise. "We're pleased with de Blob's performance worldwide," a THQ representative recently told IGN. "It's a great intellectual property and you can tell your readers to expect to see more of de Blob in the future."
According to IGN and data compiled by the NPD group, de Blob had sold 230,000 copies by the end of 2008 in the US alone -- not exactly a colossal smash hit, but certainly a happy end to a humble beginning.

totally! I mean, look at all those colors! This is obviously a game for those knuckle dragging casuals right? Cause the only colors a true gamer needs is gunmetal gray and dystopian brown right?

Typical wii fanboy responses. He said nothing about color at all. If it's anything like the iphone version then I would agree with Shag, because there was no point to the game at all.

Normally you'd be right, if Shag was a new member and this was one of his first posts. However that's not the case, and most people have already realize that there is a pattern to what Shag likes/hates.
It's kinda like a troll/fanboy. Once you figure out his/her pattern, it becomes kinda obvious why they would say somethiing negative towards a certain game.

Yeah theres a pattern to the games I shit on, they all suck.
List of the last few games I took issue with: de Blob, Little Big Planet, Mass Effect.
It certainly reads like a single platform troll doesn't it.
You are right though, you can identify a pattern, everyone bitching about me is a Nintendo Fanboy.

Luckily your bad taste doesn't effect my good judgement.

This game would have benefitted from being multi-platform. I could actually see the added horsepower making for a nice performance upgrade. Also, the PS360 could benefit from having more diverse games like this on their platforms to draw more people in.

I played it on the PC, it was free, and I still hated it.

I just think it needed to implement a better save system. I'm sorry, but while I loved the game in short bursts, an hour trying to get 100% with no real break is too much.

Of course there is a market for this game on the other two platforms. That's a pretty naive question to ask. I think this game would also see a tremendous benefit from the upgraded hardware and IGN echoed that sentiment in their video review of the game.
Are you one of those guys that think all people play on the PS360 are violent games? That's like saying all Wii gamers play are mini games.
Gamers like to play good games! Period.

played this on PC, it had it's moments, i can see it being more fun to play with a gamepad of some sort though...
if anything it was a quick fix to satiate my cravings for rolling around in katamari.

i was about to ask what this was actually about cause it looks similar to Katamari. guess that answers my question then.

Yes, the only similarity really is the rolling actions... it's a good time waster, i'd classify it more as an interactive toy/mini-game as opposed to a full game... there really isn't a whole lot to do... keep in mind I am referring to the PC version, and not the Wii version, for all i know it could play very different, but i doubt it.

I really hope they add an option to assign "jump" to an actual button. But that was my only real complaint (well, that and the absolutely insane difficulty of getting that last 1%, I never did manage that on any of the levels). Other than that, I loved the game and a sequel would be great, especially if they added a little more open-endedness and some blob-size-related puzzles like in the original PC version.
BTW, to the people who think the Wii version is like the PC version: you're wrong, it's not. But I blame Nintendo and their lack of demos for that misconception.

It's been mentioned...but not everyone reads I guess, so I'll write it again...and those who don't read can ignore it again.
The PC and the Wii versions are VERY different. The PC game was an idea, a concept, but not really a fully fleshed out game. It has the same basic concept as the Wii game, but the Wii version is a very different beast. There are more similarities between Gears of War 1 & 2 than there are between the PC and Wii versions. Way, way more.
The PC version was interesting, the Wii version is a good game. Not amazingly great, I think the levels drag a little and get too long, but it's a good game. If you have a Wii definitely rent it, worthing buying if you see it cheap!

This makes me pleased. I loved de Blob. One of the most enjoyable games I played all last year.
I didn't mind the flicking the Wiimote to jump. I kinda of liked it really...although having the option for a button press would be nice. I guess the only thing I'd really want to see in a sequel would be an extra coat of polish to really make it feel like a AAA-level game and maybe a higher quality music soundbank (even though the original was still pretty good)
