Nope, but when you enter the theatre you have to stand in line and wait fifteen minutes for the movie to decide who you get to sit next to.

The coolest thing is when they project it through the wall, and your just left wondering "how did they do that?".

This should be great as they originate from similarly well-written source material.

Gears actually does have an amazing storyline, the games don't flesh it out as much as they should.

I agree. Even though GOW2 had some more story the Gears movie i'm guessing will have about 90% action. And the story is the leftover parts they need to fill out.

"Owen Wilson as Baird"

Why would you do that? All CGI screw the actors, that's how it should be made.

Hope all you want, but you know it's going to be The Rock for all of the above.

Think "The Klumps", but with more blood.

Actually, I'd really like to see that.

Will Ferrel as Baird.

I've always hated Baird like a toby, Will Ferrel would probably make him a lovable character.

Actually, when I think about it, there were no lovable characters in gears....

@Tip

Agreed. Of all of them, I think Dom was the most likable. Makes me wish they fleshed out more of the Dom/Maria relationship before their 'big moment' in Gears 2. Would have given it more weight.

@Fx.Dr,
I laughed when that 'moment' happened. It annoyed me that I read the subtitles before Dom even started talking, so all emotion was lost.
I also laughed when both Carmines died.

Am I sick?

I prefer the more interesting Gears 2 tags, "Gotcha", "A parting gift", or "Nothing but bits." Also, "Who wants Toast!" is always a crowd favorite.

Their isn't enough story in gears of war for even one hour..I guess two hours if you put in gears of war 2 as well. Otherwise theirs not enough story for a trilogy...on top of that the story isn't good enough to even warrant such a vast undertaking. Its hollywood cliched garbage in game form. Don't get me wrong its great for game that wants to be like a big dumb movie...not good to make a big dumb game into a big dumn movie.

I think doing a live action would be a costly failure, just like Dr. said in response to my imaginary cast.

If they hired the right artists for CG, it could be a block buster. As for the story, in Hollywood they can pull one out of their ass. Its done all the time. Didn't Cyclops and Professor X die in X MenIII?

Ha!

You never read the book? Did you just skip the cutsceens? Is your brain on the outside of your skull in a jar of fermented pig urine?

Any game can have enough storyline to fill a movie. I could make a six hour epic story about Jump-Man from the Commodore 64 if i had the time.

This is all you need to make it work

Invasion Force, extinction of human kind looming
A Man with a Damaged Past
A Man Looking for his family
Over the top pro athlete turned solider
Sarcastic pessimist
Allusions to Creation of Locusts
Big Big Big Battle scenes
Flashbacks of Marcus's father and his work
Impact on Civillians (shanty towns)
Death and Destruction
Big explosive ending.
Realization that the war is not over
~Fin

You couldn't make a 2 hour movie out of the first game? I could. It would suck, but it would make sense. Now you hire a pro writer, and you got your self some potential for a great movie.

Gears is basically LOTR with guns anyway, heros and orc-lookalikes. Except without the kick ass story of LOTR, or the epic war because bloody guns are introduced and without believable looking characters, silly butch men comparing the amount of packs they have on thier chest, this game should be more like 300

Didn't know Wiseman was doing the Gears movie, so this is fantastic news for me. I consider "Live Free or Die Hard" a fantastic movie and great addition to the Die Hard franchise (my favorite being Die Hard with a Vengance).

It's ashame Bruce Wilis is getting older, cause I really think he could pull off Fenix. I think Christian Slater might be good as Fenix, just cause he has the voice, but might not be "gruff" enough.
