Ultimate Alliance 2 and Prototype will be awesome. Enough said.
Mr Khan @ Jan 27th 2009 3:07PM
It has already been established that SEGA will bring their big Wii games: House of the Dead, The Conduit, MadWorld, and i think Sonic & the Black Knight, though i don't know what else SEGA might bring off of other platforms. Maybe Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection? Phantasy Star Zero? What else is SEGA up to?
Nigeria @ Jan 27th 2009 5:11PM
There's that Outrun Live release and...Alpha Protocol. That's all that comes to mind when I think Sega US/Europe. Sega Japan have loads more going on, I think.
RichChap @ Jan 27th 2009 3:14PM
Who from Joystiq will be attending the show?
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Jan 27th 2009 3:27PM
I will be. FUCK YEAH I'M GOING TO WASTE MY MONEY ON SHIT I DON'T NEED!!!
Duke @ Jan 27th 2009 5:55PM
I will probably go to the next one in Chicago. Not this one though.
guidedbyvoip @ Jan 27th 2009 10:18PM
I'll be there.
Chicago Mafia @ Jan 27th 2009 3:14PM
This new joystiq is nice and all. But to tell you the truth. I'd like to change my avatar. I've been trying to unsuccessfully for over a year. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong when I upload a 64x64 jpeg. What gives? You guys doing this to spite me? Hahaha.
Seriously. Your site won't let me change it.
Dirty @ Jan 27th 2009 3:19PM
I blame the user.
Mr Khan @ Jan 27th 2009 3:21PM
They need to permalink a how-to page into the site, like where the "Send Us Tips" thing is, and so on
First off, it doesn't have to be 64x64, but it does have to be jpeg, and browser compatibility is apparently something that is all over the board for everyone. For me, it only works if i upload through FireFox
And of course, once you upload it, the old avatar will reappear at random for quite some time (been over a month for me)
Cheers ;)
Markez (Rubberband Banjo till Death) @ Jan 27th 2009 3:39PM
Browser compatibilities or incompatibilities are a bitch. I can only login to my profile with explorer. In firefox, after I enter my password and hit enter it just cycles back to the "is this you?" stupid link thingy.
MRLN @ Jan 27th 2009 3:14PM
It's funny how Southpeak is giving Velvet Assassin and X-blades to Xbox 360, and Wii is getting "Roogoo: Twisted Towers," which sounds like an average puzzler.

Love the new site \o/!

Yu-gi-doh.
I remember when I was a kid and played yu-gi-oh and Magic.MTG players always said that I should stay away from YGO because YGO players were a bunch of f*gs I never understood that until later when I enter a tournament.
Anyway YGO is a good game but the players are a disgrace and GX was cancelled just when it stop being crap and start being interesting (5D can f**k off and go to hell).
Also who was the effing genius in Konami that limited Tag Force 3 to Europe and Japan? I used to play Tag force games for hours.
Moptimus Slime (Leader of the Ryan Scott Defense Force, Ultrastiq Revolutionary) @ Jan 27th 2009 5:13PM
dude, GX NEVER stopped being crap. They took a show with personality and somewhat-likable characters and replaced them with Generic Anime Characters #1-5. And who the fuck thought card games on motorcycles was a good idea?
Tristan: In the future card games will be played on motorbikes.
Yugi: That is the stupidest thing that’s ever come out of your mouth, card games on motorbikes? COME ON!
As for the games, Eternal Duelists Soul was easily the best. The RPGs sucked. Not only were the dull and linear, they obviously didn't know how the game was played (Blue Eyes White Dragon VS. Kuriboh: who wins? Well, based solely on the fact that Kuriboh is a dark attribute and Blues Eyes is a light attribute, Kuriboh Wins! Fuck off). The only problem with Eternal Duelists Soul was you couldn't use the Egyptian God Cards, which sucked since you got them in every other pack of cards.
Dr Jeckyl and Mr ESC. @ Jan 27th 2009 7:52PM
Actually GX was more a Harry Potter rip-off with card games but by the end of the show (Late Season 3 and season 4) by the time it was about to get canned it was actually decent but ya know 4kids can't show anything remotely good. Hell look what they did with One piece and TMNT didn't last long before they turn it into Fast Forward.
Anyhow the manga was also acceptable I mean people died a lot and the part where they duel was better than the duels you get to see in any of the Animes.
5D is the point where the series reach a “this is totally shit change the channel” point with GX it was “this is friggin depressing”.
Levi @ Jan 27th 2009 3:28PM
Prototype and Riddick ftw
About the new site, good so far, but it completely screws the menu screen for my Joystiq fan game... I have a menu screen working that looks a lot like the 2.0 website. It's pretty neat. Got lazy with the actual game tho, so all I have done is the menu XD
thecmoneyshow @ Jan 27th 2009 3:43PM
No offense Alexander but where's Richard and Dustin?
I miss X3F.
What's the point of the new Joystiq Xbox if it's just all stories pushed from the main Joystiq hub. I mean it's basically just a filter.
Sorry. Not trying to be a b*tch. Just worried about the personalities that kept me coming back.
Duke @ Jan 27th 2009 5:53PM
http://xbox.joystiq.com/
Lots of crying going on without checking around the site.
thecmoneyshow @ Jan 27th 2009 6:20PM
Duke-
Um. Duh.
I made my comment from the xbox.joystiq.com portal, however, it's just a Joystiq post that gets tagged and duplicated to the other sites. My worry is that sooner or later someone who's job it is to keep costs down is going to realize that they don't need quite so big of an editorial staff.
Not crying. Love the design and the features make sense from a developer standpoint. I just hope that the X3F podcast stays intact. I like the Joystiq one too but let's face it most episodes someone admits that "This is the worst podcast ever." And they're only half joking.
X3F > Joystiq > CagCast > Everyone Else

What an impressive display of shitty/uninteresting games :( Aside from Prototype and Burnout Paradise I could careless about anything else there (maybe MUA2... maybe).
SEGA: Virtua Fighter 5 R on PS3 and XBox360. C'mon, make it happen
Moptimus Slime (Leader of the Ryan Scott Defense Force, Ultrastiq Revolutionary) @ Jan 27th 2009 4:47PM
1. Sega already said Sonic, MadWorld, and the Conduit are already showing up at NY Comic Con
2. Is that WalletPop ad supposed to remind me of goatse?
PSN: Erdie @ Jan 27th 2009 5:52PM
Overlord 2! I can't wait to buy that.
Deck @ Jan 27th 2009 6:07PM
Excited for Ultimate Alliance 2.
Don't they normally show off games that are yet to come out though? Afro Samurai will already be out by the time Comic Con happens.
Highlar @ Jan 28th 2009 10:57AM
Wow...no Ghostbusters love on here? Hopefully they have a hands-on of the Wii version there so we can FINALLY get some kind of report on how its going. Its one I've really been interested in for a while. Also would be interested to hear of some kind of hands-on with Champions Online. Here's to hoping it works out, too!
Vampt Vo @ Jan 28th 2009 5:30PM
So, which Joystiq bloggers are gonna be at NYCC? I'll be there blogging for my own site (anigamers.com) and trying to find time to balance the huge amount of anime and video game stuff going on at the show. Hopefully I'll run into some Joystiq people while I'm there.
