Grab the in-game Gears 2 Gold Lancer for free [Update]

If you picked up your copy of Gears of War 2 used, you now have a chance to get your hands on the elusive gold-plated Lancer, which was -- until today -- only available via a voucher code included with new copies of the game. It's available now on the Xbox Live Marketplace as a free download.

Don't look so surprised. Earlier in the month, Microsoft released the Flashback Map Pack -- another item initially made available only to new buyers of the game -- on the Marketplace. At least this time, the content is free. No word if it will remain that way.

Update: This content seems to only be available on the Xbox.com Marketplace, not on the Xbox 360 Marketplace.

Well that's nice I can't download it cuz my account is american but i'm in canada now. sucks!! I'll try to make a new all canadian account and see if that works... Can't believe they made this free, so much for enticing players to buy the LE to then go and do this. That's why I've never been a sucker for LE and much less coming from MS - let's not forget what happened with Fable II.

I can't downloaded it because im under 18 but i really want it :(

Apparently it was an error, or a new one is up. When I try to download it, it says I don't have enough points to download it and that the price is 99,999 MS points.
