Guitar Hero World Tour Monthly: Wings, Bob Seger, Shins, Incubus, Ryan Adams

Much like it did last month, Activision Blizzard has announced three new DLC packs for Guitar Hero World Tour due out in February. Let's hope this remains a dodeca-annual affair.

Acoustic Track Pack (440

/ $5.49)

"Drive" - Incubus (160 / $2)
"New Slang' - The Shins (160 / $2)
"Wonderwall (Oasis cover)" - Ryan Adams (160 / $2)

Wings Track Pack (440

/ $5.49)

"Junior's Farm" (160 / $2)
"Hi Hi Hi" (160 / $2)
"Jet" (160 / $2)

Bob Seger Track Pack (440

/ $5.49)

"Old Time Rock and Roll" (160 / $2)
"Her Strut" (160 / $2)
"Get out of Denver (live)" (160 / $2)

The Acoustic Track Pack is coming Thursday, February 12, followed by Wings and Seger on the two Thursdays after that, respectively, for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii. Check out videos for the first trio after the break.

Ok that's a wrap. The Shins are my favorite band and even one song by them trumps 500 from RB...the rest of that is great too...well maybe not the Oasis cover (have the song in RB anyway...

Want more great DLC? The Killers, Nirvana (obs RB has more and better songs but these are good too), The Smashing Pumpkins, Bruce on the way, Great Classic Rock pack, 2 good singles as well. It's not a lot but the games only been out since October. Stop Hating...

Come on. Being the Rock Band fan I am I can admit there are some really good DLC tracks on GH that I'd like in Rock Band...

But, I can honestly say there's not too many of them.

I'd love me some more Incubus though!

And P.S.: The Hendrix pack was pretty boring. Good tunes... but not so much on plastic instruments.

that's the shittiest Incubus track to put into a music game though. I don't care how popular it is, the only person that's going to have fun playing that song is the vocalist, and there aren't too many of those. Where's Sick Sad Little World? Where's Megalomaniac? WHERE'S THE GOOD STUFF?

It's about time Drive got up there, I've been longing for that song. I'm glad to see some shins too.

with both GHWT and RB2, i try and picture whether the song would work well in a party setting where all of my friends could pick up, play a song, and have a good time.

every single one of these songs fails that test, with the exception of "old time rock n roll."

i have to say, the RB2 selections may not be as challenging as the GHWT DLC, but when it comes to having friends over for some fun, there are always 'wows' and "ooos' and 'ahhhs' over a lot of the DLC.

that whole "guitar hero is harder" thing is a farce. It was true when it was GH3 vs. RB, but those days are long gone.

Oolz is right. Rock Band is now the way to go if you want finger-wrecking songs.

I still think its a crime there hasn't been at least one Dragonforce song in GHWT.

Although in about 2 months guitar hero will be once again be harder if you count guitar hero: Metallica.

When it comes to a whole band playing, the acoustic pack doesn't really seem all that great, even if I do love Incubus and The Shins.

Common guys, I know it wasn't your move (Joystiq's) but I want some of the old X3F Features! I mean what's with the X3F "Highlights" on the right side of the page? What about the listings of game/360 categories? Seriously, it even comes down to being able to rate someone's post 2.5 Xbox's out of 3!

I like the new layout, but is it really necessary to TAKE OUT features? Some of those things made this blog a little more unique than the hundreds of other Xbox blogs out there, just something for you guys to consider.

I'm tempted to pick up the Bob Seger and Wings packs, but I haven't really played my copy of GHWT all that much and probably won't any time soon. I spend too much on Rock Band DLC and there's so much more of it that it seems almost unnecessary to even own a copy of GHWT (for me at least). I'll just have to live without these songs so I can save money for what may possibly come to RB.

The more and more random "indie" and Capitol bands I see on GHWT...the more and more I fear that The Decemberists will show up there, and not Rock Band, if they ever show up anywhere.

Decemberists would be brilliant! some Broken Social Scene, Arcade Fire... maybe Wilco... would be great too. I don't care if it's for RB2 or GHWT.

hopefully this means Rock Band will get Night Moves and Hollywood Nights

It kinda feels like "Old Time Rock n Roll" should have been in the game to begin with, considering it was in the advertisements and all...

I don't get why we can't buy one song at a time. I wanted the Linkin Park track from GH3 but didn't want the other songs, now Drive by Incubus but I don't want the other songs...lame.
