Which was the shameless rip-off of the other? Rogue Planet or FF12.
I recall Rogue Planet was the better of the two, so it either came second and was an improved copy, or FF12 was second and was a pale copy.
Note that both of them were a blatant copy of Star Wars, so both get minus points for that. I was almost ashamed for the developers.
I know you could say Star Wars is itself a copy of numerous other films, but in my life-time, the Rogue Planet/FF12 business is still the most striking case of laziness I know of.

This is not that good.. Maybe its just me.. I prefer xiii VERSUS!!
No trailer for that one? Of course not, Square Enix finished the game but hey - fuck those ps3 gamers. Money is a lot better than loyalty. .
Depending on the release of versus SE can put it up their a**... I won't buy it.. They have made too many bad decisions regarding M$/Sony..

I lost interest in Final Fantasy long ago, but this game does look interesting. Still, what's with the overboard of sequels (ala Final Fantasy VII)?
Also, all the FFs keep having the same look, and are less fantasies and more futuristic. I do like futuristic settings, but they don't feel very FFish. I liked IX a lot, probably because it had such a 'fantasy' feel to it, THAT was a Final Fantasy....it looks like FFXIII is branching off into Action Adventure or Shooter or something.
But I won't pre-judge...Graphics do look amazing though. I won't judge the game until I play it....

I cant believe how bad you all are dissing Final Fantasy X, ok ill give you the run down of what i think about all the final fantasy games, cause i have played them all.
Final Fantasy I - Lame, but good for its time, played it first on PSP
Final Fantasy II - Little better than the first with actual character names, Played it first on PSP
Final Fantasy III - Very Straight forward, not many side quests with the exception of a few Summons to get (which i ran into by accident for all of them and beat them my first time). The last part of that game was extremely difficult it was like 4 or 5 bosses at the end, i couldnt get through it. and the characters were lame. Played it first on Nintendo DS
Final Fantasy IV - Just recently played on DS, its pretty good, the story is really good and the added voice overs were a nice touch. Tons to do, and very fun all together
Final Fantasy V - Pretty weird, the main character loved Chocobos...and in the japanese version his name was Butz. In the Americanized version he is Bartz. I guess thats better. Played first on the GBA
Final Fantasy VI - Just recently bough this one for GBA, i love it so far, pretty good story, if no one has played it, Find it. So far its as good as VII

Lets go over my FF rant
FF6 was kinda generic(magic for everyone) but combat was still very unique and the story great.
FF7 was more generic with less uniqueness in combat but more customizing equipment with a so so story and characters.
FF8 is a bloody mess gimped magic and equipment set the pace for the game and if you hated it the characters and story they were gimped to. With gameplay broken the junction system could not be made worthwhile IMO, the story was not so horrid if you could get past all the issues the game had.
FF9 on my god this is what FF is all about not so much story and characters but great gameplay and equipment FF9 is the last FF I do not hate, I am not turned off by cute(hey capcom MML 3 now plz, I am in need of more mistress Tron!!) so the chibi character style did not bother me the characters/story were not the best maybe on par with FF7 but all in all it was good and ti was refreshing to see a real Jrpg and not a MMO knock off or watered down modern RPG.
FF10...gaaaa..... like FF8 its a mess the sphere grid works well but level design took a back step(ala modern game design) equipment was gimped even with customization it just could not cut it for me. Characters and story were so so I'd say as bad as FF8 if not worse at times, blitz ball was kinda neat but not polished well all in all I still can not complete it out of boredom,X2 has some neat ideas I would like to see implemented in a real FF one day, change the Dress spheres to class spheres and bring back epic FF equipment sets a homage to FF5 if you will..only...with a better plot/story..and characters... .
FF12 is broken and with the sand rubbing in the eyes release of the more polished and finished international version I almost loath it.
Its not the atomized real time combat its the lack of solid group and character management in manual mode so I can enjoy controlling a group of warriors manually to place them were I want...
Its not the gambits its the lack of a not being able to save preset lists so you can cue up your combination when needed.
Its not Lamont its the lack of dual welding for the thief class.
Its not having to learn to equip a equipment its the lack of good classic FF style equipment(bland MMO equipment sucks).
Its not the Skill board its the lack of skill pathing and getting out of class.
Its not the limit breaks its the lack of good and truly unique limit breaks.
Its not the level design in fact its great its we need running shoes to triple our speed...
Its not the story or characters but the fact the gameplay is an utter mess.
So for the next FF titles how bad will they suck in trems of gameplay? Will they be as bland and mindless as the last 2 titles?

WOW... that was unbelievable. And I'm not a big fan of Final Fantasy. I gotta get this when it comes out in Japan.

When I heard about this game a year or two ago, it was said to be a playstation 3 exclusive. I'm happy to see that it's coming out for the 360 as well.

FFXI was great, but too short. It only took me 250 days of playing time to get to level 75!
