People, we spent a lot of money on video games last year. Hey, just because we're blogging all serious like doesn't mean we don't buy our fair share of games. We're as responsible for this as you are! How much of that money do you think belongs to Nintendo?
The ESA was kind enough to break down the data further, showing us that we spent $11.7 billion on software alone, a 22.9% jump year-over-year. A lot of the sales, both on the hardware and software side, can be traced back to December, where consumers spent $5.3 billion, breaking the coveted $5 billion mark in a single month for the first time.
Gaming is becoming more and more popular (seriously?), and we're all for it. Do us a favor, though. When it's 7 o'clock and it's time for your grandma to watch Wheel of Fortune, instead ask her if she wants to shoot some Covenant in the face with you. You just might be surprised at how well she handles a Battle Rifle.

Just imagine what could be done with 22 billion dollars...
Africa could be liberated or something like that. Or a greater and succesful effort could be made towards world peace. But who needs those things when we have our 360's and PS3's, right?

well that would require a government allowing liberation and would require the citizens to be motivated for liberation... you can send 22 billion to Africa, but 5 billion would be stolen by pirates on the way, 5 billion would be taken by the government or acting officials, 5 billion would cover the cost of transport and the charity administrative costs, and maybe 7 billion of that would end up in the places it was meant to go.
and then you have the local officials to deal with and local criminal organizations which control the streets in those countries.
if you were being sarcastic i missed the joke once again... :)
there is an oil tanker sitting in the ocean controlled by pirates for the past few months with war tanks, ammo, guns, etc on board and the pirates want 20 million. the US navy has surrounded the vessel, but sinking it would end up costing more money than 20 million in lost goods and the ship.
that is still going on now and happens every day.
you really have to control the trade routes also.

You act like this money is just getting thrown in the toilet. You know this is going to families of the industry right?
"But who needs those things when we have our 360's and PS3's, right?"
So, what you are saying is that we can't buy stuff to make us happy because others aren't happy? How about you cancel your internet and send that money to the needy.

Don't get me wrong, i love my 360 and PS3, it's just that now billion dollar industries and corporations are taking over the world...some people are making ridiculous amounts of money while other people live with absolutely nothing to their names, just because of where they were born or their ethnicity or something like that.

"As for the wasted money spent on the ps3s...shame those thoughtless owners. They should donate to a charity organization IMO."
Are you stupid or something? Buying a PS3 is no different than buying a 360 or a Wii, and the fact that you're trying to portray PS3 owners as thoughtless or undeserving or similar bullshit simply because they own a different system than what you like only furthers the idea that you're a pathetic moron.
I don't even know why I say that anymore, though. It's pretty much common knowledge around here that you're the new Summercamp; an idiot capable of nothing but trollan

@Fatass
He was actually just saying the PS3 sucks, not calling the owners heartless. You can still hate him though, if you're a PS3 fan, but hate him for the right reasons.

Lol, it's retro. Personally, I love it. It looks very nice, it fits nicely in my monitor (which the last one didn't for some reason) and everything is laid out with elegance. My only complaint is that the right toolbar is far too cluttered. Kinda distracts from the ease of use.

PS3 owners are pathetic, all they do is want to play games. That's where I come in - I derail threads and bitch and moan about a system I'm not even interested in. That'll show 'em, right!?

-1 for bringing politics into this. I see that crap on TV, I hear about it every day at work, school, I get emails, its on the radio.
Video games are my last fucking sanctuary from political bullshit. Go to some anti-republican forum if you want to post crap like that.

1. It was related in pretty much the least way possible. You were obviously just looking for an excuse to spread 2.
2. If you’re too stupid to recognize liberal propaganda when you see it, then there’s no hope for you I'm afraid.
Done replying now, this conversation would go no where.
