New Godfather II trailer shows 'The Don's View'
43
Power comes with influence, intelligence and an iron fist. In The Godfather II players will wield power and use all the benefits it provides to create the most ruthless army within the Cosa Nostra. At least that's what Robert Duvall told us in the latest trailer for the upcoming EA sequel. Yes, good old Tom Hagen will be by your side to aide in obtaining a blood-splattered key to the city. And not "by your side" in the "we're going dancing" kind of way. You'll definitely be shooting people in the face. With guns.

there have been quite a few reviews lately. joystiq's just getting in on the action.
it has 5 reviews already according to metacritic with a 98% average. so the time around march 20th should be when we get the true average score. it's getting a lot of early reviews which worries me slightly cause you can't really tell if the early reviews are true or not (case in point: IGN gave GTA IV a 10 even though it was more like an 8.8 to me and they gave MGS4 a 10 which was spot on). here's hoping joystiq's review is as unbiased as possible.

Is it 1080p25 or 1080p50? Because if it's the former, there is hardly anything new from a camcorder you can buy in the US that records at 1080i60 or 1080p24.
What would be a breakthrough would be 1080p60 for NTSC regions and 1080p50 for PAL regions. Temporal resolution is a must, and I'm sure a lot of people would prefer recording at 720p50 than 1080p25.

If you're on the PlayStation channel, shouldn't Nintendo/Xbox stuff automatically be filtered out? Also shouldn't platforms be listed alphabetically: Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox or whatever.

This is coming out on PS3. Also, your irritation at the 3 console manufacturers not being alphabetized to your liking is moreso an indication of your OCD, just guessing.
Er, sorry, I mean -

Every comment above me is stupid and off topic, wtf.
I really dug Godfather Blackhand edtion on the Wii, and might just have to pick this up for my 360 when it comes out. Had some good character to it and a unique feel to it that differentiated it from some of the others in the sandbox arena.

In a swift victory for President Barack Obama, the Democratic-controlled House approved a historically huge $819 billion stimulus bill Wednesday night with spending increases and tax cuts at the heart of the young administration's plan to revive a badly ailing economy. The vote was 244-188, with Republicans unanimous in opposition despite Obama's frequent pleas for bipartisan support.

I love to micromanage all sorts of things in video games be it a professional sports franchise, character inventory or in this case an entire city's crime syndicate. I wasn't really expecting much and must admit this one wasn't even on my radar. After seeing some recent hands on impressions (IGN) and trailers I am actually starting to get a little excited. I like that they weren't afraid to have mature content like nudity, sexual situations, drugs dealing and racketeering. I want to see the art and general direction of the driving & combat mechanics cleaned up a bit before I consider this one a day one purchase.
Let's just say that have piqued my interest in this game. It's up to the developers to convince me it's worthy of a full priced purchase.

This trailer actually makes the game look really good. I loved the first game (sucker for games like these), and the Don's view looks to give it a nice twist. I might pick this up along with Killzone 2.

im a huge italian mafia fan and godfather fan but something seems off with this game. i loved the first one though so hopefully this is just as good.
only problem with the first one was that after i took every building and finished every single thing 100%, there was nothing to do. cant wait to try this one any way though.

Looks like GTA4 with even less textures, so the trailer earns a solid 6/10 for graphics from me.
I was watching this and saying to myself, wow, they're still making PS2 games huh?

Those are some very shiny character models. Not good looking shiny, but literally glossy like they're covered in enamel, fresh from the kiln.

The gameplay looks pretty decent. This Don's View thing is interesting as well. I never played the first one, but it seems it is received well if you like these types of games. So I guess there some hope there.
But yeah, what IS up with those character models.. they are rather.. off I think...

If you've ever played Scarface..... Look it up the character models are just like this. It's a good art direction imo.

Looks cool.
Hope they send it to the Wii eventually. Blackhand was one of the best Wii games for like the first two years.

The Godfather clip looks great.
On the other hand I don't like the generic look and feel of the new PS3 site. It has lost it's character by overtly being associated with Joystiq.
Also there seems to be a massive increase in spam from every man and his dog, as well as what seems to be a merged comment section for multi-platform games. I preferred the segregated fanboy sites. This new format will just lead to massive flame wars.
