I, too, will wait. Don't wanna ruin anything. I won't be able to resist the demo, though, so I hope they don't give a lot away in it! 4 more days! I hope it lives up

Ditto X2.

The Killzone 1 intro was/is pretty epic too. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GgG0YDEQEM)

The demo is probably going to be the level we've seen about a billion times already. Cornith river I believe it's called, so we should be good for non-spoilers.

How can it be spoilers if it's the first thing you see when you first start up the game?

Definitely good looking.

Kind of confused, though, as to why in the last 30 seconds it turned into the Matrix reloaded O.o

Who is that voice actor? His cracky-nature during the yelling is oddly familiar.
Wait, is it Brian Cox?
I think it is.
Why am I still posting this?

Joystiq and everyone else, apparently, The game's got a 96 on metacritic right now, based off of 11 reviews. That's even higher than MGS4 and LBP.

The embargo was lifted today. I think it's surfaced on youtube, perhaps on GameTrailers before today, but Joystiq couldn't post it themselves until today.

Amirite?

You mean the dialogue? I agree, it sucks.

Yet more 'hoo-ya!' american superhuman space people with endless enthusiasm. I want characters much more cynical and lazy, who can't rescue an injured friend just by staring at him all dreamy-eyed.

Eh I thought the game was about a revolution in the future not space marines(Again).I mean the game took place on earth during liberation but hell Templar and Rico are back.

The technlogy they use is also weird but it looks so badass.

Not trying to nitpick but Killzone didn't take place on Earth, it took place on Vekta.

I thought that was a Nation. So is not Earth is Vekta?

I also thought the Helghast were an evil empire and Templar and Co. rebels. Liberation doesn’t give you a lot of insight in the story.

The 'revolution' occured years before even Killzone 1. It was the first Helghan war, and was over very quickly because Helghan technology was nothing compared to the ISA's.

The current crop of games (Killzone 1, Liberation and Killzone 2) are actually based aroung the second Helghan war, which seems to be a far more equal fight.

Killzone 1 is part way through the Helghast's invasion of the ISA controlled Vekta,

Killzone Liberation details the liberation of Vekta from the Helghast,

Killzone 2 shows the ISA attack on the Helghast's home planet, Helghan.

^ Pretty sure that's all right. The Killzone franchise (like most sci-fi shooters) has a very rich background story that is only really hinted at in the actual games.

Hyams, here's a tricky question:

Seeing how Helghast wore masks in Killzone because they couldn't breathe common air, do the they only do it in Killzone 2 because it's awesome and/or to justify their status as faceless goons that lack human characteristics?

Also how come the Marines don't need gas masks? Is the air on Helghan backwards compatible or what?

They were the masks not because they can't breathe the Helghan air or the Vektan air, but because they struggle to breathe, no matter what.

There's chemicals in the Helghan air that screw up people's lung over a long period of time, and the Helghan's still haven't evolved to be immune to it. Gas masks are required, no matter where they are.

ISA forces aren't wearing masks because the war isn't meant to last long, in which case the atmosphere won't have any affect (the damage occurs because of long term exposure, remember).

I think there is a rule that says Helmets and Gas mask are for pussies or Evil characters only(Pyro is the exception).

Although KZ excuse is somehow...okay I don't bite it but is more creative than Cliff with "Because that way we can't see the snipers".A good sniper never shows himself otherwise "not sniper".

Here take a look at this documental
