The Board of Directors at Midway Games has appointed Matt Booty as the new chairman of the board. Consequently, Booty currently plays the roles of president, CEO and chairman of a company barely hanging on to this mortal coil.
Booty has been collecting new titles as the publisher has been sinking deeper and deeper into financial ruin -- now might be the time for Midway to stop adding job honorifics to the man and get him to fix the company.

You know while people seem to hate MK games for some reason (Unless you broke both of your thumbs in the Kombo challenges I don’t follow you) that’s pretty much the only game midway has that actually sells.
I mean Blacksite was pretty bad and Spy Hunter seriously just let it die. They need to start making original games unless they want to try again and develop a generic shooter again but removing the bugs this time.

As an MK-hater I can tell you exactly why people hate MK. It's a really, really poor fighting game franchise. It's too button-mashy. Combos are garbage, animation is garbage... It's the game that makes us all believe that American game studios have an inability to make non-shit fighting games, which breaks my heart. It's never been able to lift itself out of the muck of being a grade-B (at best) franchise, you'll never find a serious fighting game fan playing it.
On the upside (I guess?)... Namco recently proved that Japanese devs can make exceedingly shitty, unbalanced fighting games too with SCIV... so at least MK is not alone in the big-name fighting game crap pile anymore...

Back in the 2D days the animation was choppy but nothing that affected the gameplay. I haven't found a problem with animation in MK games lately (Konquest mode by the other hand).
The only game I consider as an outstanding fighting game is Tekken.
I personally dislike VR Moon gravity although is not a bad game but the rounds are too short.
DOA is really easy, I played it once for the first time and I beat it in 10 minutes, then super hard on 15 minutes.
Street fighter games (Here is where I’m downvoted) I never saw why people thought it was so great, most of the time in the arcade people won spamming projectiles and kicking people when they were jumping and so on. I never witness any good combo until Marvel Vs Capcom. Oh yeah and the damn throwing.
In MK some characters are really broken or require an insane amount of time to learn but to be honest I have never seen anyone won with button mashing. It might be me but MK requires at least a bit of skill although it can be frustrating from time to time.
I mean I think is harder than SF unless you know every combo in the game.
Also that is one of the few games that at least give us something crazy since most of the games out there have opted for pseudo-realism.
"never find a serious fighting game fan playing it" I beg to differ you can see in the leaderboards and hell even in youtube people that are really dedicated to MK games and other fighting games.

Blacksite could have been a good original game, I mean the preview features a few months in advance were pretty positive. But judging by what the team lead said, it was rushed out of the door and was dragged in too many conflicting directions (e.g. the ridiculous and thoroughly broken morale system).
It ended up being, as Yahtzee said about Turok, a lesson in how not to make a big-budget FPS.
So a note to midway - people don't buy original games if you don't make them good first.

I think that game needed Beta testers and lots of them because that game was completely buggy.
Too bad Blacksite gave us the most overpowered grenade ever (Just as halo gave us the most powerful pistol and Bad Company the most powerful knife.)

Nice job on the headline Alexander. Although, we also would have accepted "Booty shakin' it up at Midway," "Booty call at Midway," or perhaps "Midway reaches down, picks Booty."
