Its great to see that NIS is supporting their titles with DLC to increase their longevity, but I don't know if I will be buying this DLC. Its not the price of it that bothers me so much, more the content.

I have recently been playing some of the Disgaea 3 Dlc, and that actually really adds to the game, offering extra playable characters to use and level up (to level 9999 and beyond) in several different story modes, for 1.99 per character.

Prinny, on the other hand, offers one additional level to play on (basically a new scenario), not any playable characters. I suppose alternate playable characters wouldn't make as much sense here as in Disgaea, as the game is entirely Prinny focused.

I will wait and see how engaging the level design is in the main game before putting down my money for the extra level DLC. Plus, Phantom Brave is my least favoruite world of all the NIS games (with La Pucelle coming a close second).

Awesome idea, DLC for the PSP sopunds great! However, wrong game! The most of us would want DLC for Crisis Core or God of War, GTA, etc.

Don't base how well the DLC sells solely on this particular game.

Its not really the first game to have DLC that you have to pay for. Wipeout Pulse had it ages ago and I brought it for that.

As long as the DLC seems good and is received well by critics i don't see why it won't sell. There are many people who like their PSP and continue to use them. Poeple always go on and on about sales. Sales are not the only thing to judge the popularity of a console. I mean look at Wii it's made massive sales but name me 5 titles that i must own. That was a little bit hard, now do the same for PS3 and X360. So much easier now isn't it. But to further that it's not only about games as well.
I just hate it when people say that the PSP is a massive flop and stuff related to that. I'm buying this game and i'll buy the DLC. What difference does it make if i buy it for a handheld console and if i buy it on a PC/Console.

I'm sorry for the rant. It's just that i'm tired about hearing about people saying that the PSP is flopping and such, and also No it's not from here. Just the fanboys on IGN expressing how much hate they have for the PSP.

I hope the DLC is good. If it's not this will be more bad news for the PSP

Both killzone and burnout dominator had DLC on PSP, Killzone had online mode and an extra chapter added in for free and burnout had a few extra tracks for free download.

Meh. I didn't shill out for the (promised) game modes for Super Stardust. I probably won't be shilling out for the Prinny level. I know prices are inflated in Japan compared to in the Americas, but 3 dollars for a level? That'll probably come over as 1.50 or 2.00. Definitely not worth it.

Overall, I'm a large advocate of free DLC. Capcom and Sega both do great jobs with that in regards to Monster Hunter and Phantasy Star Portable. Is there a market for premium DLC? Sure. I would definitely buy a new expanded mission pack for like 5 dollars or something. Charging for such small things is ridiculous though. Especially since PSP games are already too expensive already. At least games are starting to retail at $30 now. They should have done that from the start.

Question: Disgaia vs Tactics? I played a bit of Tactics, didn't beat it, but it was good. Never played Disgaia. This spinoff looks really fun though, and I'm wondering if I should be playing through a Disgaia first.
