Nintendo has dropped a bob-omb of release dates for 2009 (via Videogamer). While mostly vague launch windows -- some of which will still likely be missed -- New Play Control! Pikmin and Mario Tennis will hit Europe February 6 and March 3, respectively, with the US getting both sometime in March. Other notable titles include Pokemon Platinum (March 22 for US, sometime 2009 for Europe) and Punch-Out!! (first half of 2009 for both regions).
Additionally, the Big N said Europeans will be able to welcome the DSi into their homes sometime this spring or summer -- not exactly the most narrow window there, and nothing we haven't already heard since president Satoru Iwata said the portable would be launching worldwide by summer 2009. Check out the the full list for Europe and US after the break.
Note: titles without release dates are already available in the respective region.

I don't want to sound ungrateful, but for those of use that already bought the wii play control titles when they were on gamecube, can't nintendo invest some of it's nintendillions of dollars into some new IPs to balance out all the crap 3rd part? Is it wrong to assume that Nintendo should be able to put out as many good games as a thrid party like Capcom who not only puts out many new games a year, but does so on multiple systems?

Nintendo certainly has a lot going on. I mean, you just don't have developers on your payroll sit around on their asses and rake in the jack. Retro: top secret project. Monster Games: top secret project. Nintendo EAD groups: Pikmin, Zelda, and Mario. HAL Laboratories: possibly still Kirby? Nintendo Software Technology: no fucking clue, though rumors talk of a revived Project HAMMER. Intelligent Systems: the latest Fire Emblem is complete, so they're probably back in the planning stages again

Yeah, waiting for new games on Wii wouldn't be so bad if the older games on Wii got cheaper faster.
I swear, of all the systems out there, Nintendo games take the longest to go down in price.

@Mr. Khan: And don't forget Factor 5, top secret unnanounced ga- whoops.
Don't think anybody listed that mountain game (cursed mountain? something like that), that one looks awesome. I think that's due late this year, but not sure.
Seriously, from that list, I'm pretty positive about Rhythm Tengoku and maaaaybe about Trace Memory Wii - although is this just a remake of the DS version? Hope not, since that one was good but you know, I already played it. (It was also way short.)
Pikmin I never played, maybe it's good, but I think I'll wait for the 'real' Pikmin 3 (presumably next year or so). No interest in Punch Out, wait-and-see on Sin and Punishment... so overall that list is not too exciting for me personally. But it's not a *bad* list and there are lots of interesting third-party games coming out to make up for it.

The report's of Factor 5's death was an IGN rumor, though. But the really fun part is that Factor 5 has never followed up on that rumor. If the company were still alive, you would think they would try to reassure the public. If they were dead, former employees would be talking. Something weird is definitely going on

Those games are intriguing. But they don't carry the same excitement for me as Punch Out! does. Maybe it's the nostalgia talking.

I'm pretty sure people are saying this year looks pretty sweet for the Wii based off of this list and the rather extensive list of awesome-looking third party games it has coming. One pretty much every month from what I can tell.

Hey, for some people, dust on the Wii is not a joke. I literally removed a cobweb from between the Wii remote charger and my Wii the other day.

Another Code R is listed - yeah!
It's Europe only?
Hoping that is fixed.
Also...no Disaster...unfortunate Nintendo won't even let us decide if we like the game. Especially since the big N has such a spotty release schedule for the first 6 months of the year. It would have made a nice Jan or Feb release.
Also hoping Endless Ocean 2 will make its way stateside, the first one was one of the real hidden jewels of the Wii line-up in 2008. (MTV's thoughts: http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2009/01/21/one-year-later-endless-ocean-wii/)

Yeah, we need Another Code R/Trace Memory over here. I loved the first one and it's kind of disappointing to see it not on the US list.
On the other hand, it's kind of suspicious that so much of the Wii stuff has such nebulous release dates (and like Sheppy said, they've sat on Rhythm Heaven long enough). I'd be willing to bet there's more on the way than just what's here (but mostly from third parties).

This is a strange and wonderful coincidence. I just dusted off my old copy of Super Punch-Out!! yesterday and played through to the world circuit just for grins.

And Rhythm Tengoku Gold is still in "whenever the fuck we print the cartridges you niche loving bitch." Seriously, Nintendo. The longer you hold onto this title for shits and giggles, the more people who will actually BUY it will say "fuck this" and just import it. IF they haven't done so already. It's fully translated. You have dick for Q1, this was promised last Q3, then Q4. There is ZERO benefit to holding this back or didn't the Starcraft 64 fiasco prove this to you?

Actually Freakazoid I didn't know of that game in particular until you named it. So they just gained another potential costumer here.

Are people still playing their Wii's? I gave mine to my in-laws to fool around with because it was just collecting dust on the shelf.
Nintendo has really dropped the ball with supporting their "core" fans. Punch-Out and Sin and Punishment 2 sound cool though. Hopefully (doubtful) they will deliver.
I really don't like how Nintendo is repackaging old Gamecube games with Wii controls even if they do sell them at a slightly lower price.
I'd rather have Pikmin 3 then a rehash of something I bought years ago.

Uh yes. I just got through Tales of Symphonia 2 and I'm starting on Opoona. And then I have Sam & Max Season 1, Mushroom Men, and de Blob on my GameFly queue, which should pull me through up until I get Street Fighter 4, which I will play while waiting for Star Ocean 4 and then Mad World comes out in March, which I will then play. And at some point I'll have to fit the new House of the Dead in there, and I never bought Pikmin the first time around so I'll probably pick up the Wii version of that since a used copy of the GC version goes for $25 still. Then there's Marble Saga, the sequel to one of my favorite underappreciated games on the Wii, I'll probably give the new Crystal Chronicles a spin since the other two were fun, Major Minor's Majestic March comes out somewhere in there as well (it's a game by the creator of Parappa which means I cannot miss it) so I'll get that, then it's Little King's Story and Klonoa in May, and hopefully by that time, a release date for Arc Rise Fantasia will be announced so I can wait for that. And Muramasa. And hopefully Fragile finds a publisher. And I don't even know when The Conduit comes out but that could be good.
I mean, giant paragraph there aside, yes, there is PLENTY to play in the coming months on the Wii. I'm sure I'll fit a bunch of 360 games in there as well, but between Street Fighter 4 online versus and how long Star Ocean 4 will be, I doubt I'd get around to other stuff, though Resident Evil 5 is lurking along with Alpha Protocol.
Actually, looking at release date lists, I'd say the Wii's got a heavier Spring than the 360 by quite a bit. I've got a lot of play time ahead of me.
