"While RE5 is very action-heavy, the base RE game design mechanic of holding fast while shooting remains," says the Capcom blog. Newcomers to the series may need to make some "mental readjustments," but the controls have remained this way to establish a sense of risk and danger while in combat. The new controls will instead grant "more natural motion to the second analog stick on your 360 or PS3 controller," allowing you to strafe. We're sure there are strong advocates for both sides of the argument amongst Resident Evil 5's audience. Maybe not Chris Redfield strong ... but strong.
Confirmed: no run-and-gun in Resident Evil 5. Ever.

Isn't it just like the internet to propagate unsubstantiated rumors. The latest such rumor surrounding the upcoming survival horror shooter Resident Evil 5 may have given the game some free publicity, but Capcom has decided that enough is enough. It's squashing the rumor once and for all in its latest community blog post. The "action" controls will not allow you to move and shoot simultaneously. Chris Redfield's testosterone-filled body makes multitasking an impossibility.

Hey, Capcom shouldn't and don't need to cater for a new group of gamers. Why do some FPS fans think they have the god given right to another FPS? Hell i like some FPS titles but let resident evil be resident evil for god sake.
Do I (or does anyone) play cod4 and keep complaining it's too fast paced and should be like Resident evil? NO!!!
Let resident evil 5 please fans of the title and just play 1 of the many FPS titles.
Most of you want to play resi 5 and don't even know the story and Just want another GOW.

Because they are tryin to bring more people to the games you freak, its gonna have both controls, so you and i can both enjoy the game, kudos to them for thinking of others instead of just you hardcore fans, i'd like to get into RE5 thank you very much, so bite me. and is it really anybody elses fault that cod 5 is to fast for you. COD5 caters to a larger base group than the retard RE controls. I'm a hardcore player and i want what i want and am very please to see such a renowned franchise start to broaden their fanbase maybe COD developers will take notes and bring you your slower game play but when everyone kicks your butt don't cry about it, cause bottom line is you have to be faster to compete. anyway i'm not tryin to step on anyones toes, just get tired of the fanboy crap. be happy that the franchise will prosper from this and keep the franchise goin.
