It's been a long time coming, but BioWare has finally informed us that a patch is in the works for the PC version of Mass Effect . Word comes via the official forums, where community coordinator Chris Priestly posted a note on the planned update.
Priestly says that Bioware has been watching the community and gathering feedback from various users having issues with the ported game. The patch, being developed by BioWare and Demiurge, will work with all versions of Mass Effect PC (including retail and those from Steam and other digital distribution sources) and should be available "soon."

I disagree. IMO I feel the male voice is better. He comes across more natural and less forced in his acting. But again, that is my opinion. At least we both have a favorite :-)

Fun Fact
The voice of Female Sheppard did Bastila Shan in KoToR (also by Bioware)
Jennifer Hale is her name.
(she also did Naomi in the Metal Gear Solid series)
Also, I agree the female voice was far too forced, which was disappointing. This is coming from a big fan of the acting for Bastila Shan too. Overall, I thought it was the supporting characters that had the best voice acting, not the main ones.
Another interesting fact, is the female love interest in this game did the voice of Carth in KoToR.

I love how Joystiq tosses 'port' in there like it's some kind of bad word. There's nothing wrong with a port, especially when the game was developed for a platform that is more or less a computer anyway.

All platforms are more or less computers. In fact, I could suggest that since the PS3 allows you to do Linux installs and the Wii has a web browser that those systems are more "computer-like" than the 360 is.

@akamagi
I think Marty was referring to the 360's architecture which is so similar to the PC bar a few bits. Meaning that porting from 360 to PC is super easy and shouldn't create a loss in quality, unless you're rockstar....

That is exactly what I meant, Klepto.
AkaMagi made a stupid argument anyway - by that logic, the DS would be "more like a computer" than the 360.

Buy the Steam version.
...Unless you already bought it retail, which is your fault.

I think the 360 version could use an update as well. Seriously, how hard would it be for them to give us a new inventory interface? I'm sure they've already got one in the works for Mass Effect 2.
Plus if you copy your game to the 360 to play the game from the hard drive (as per the NXE) you get an audio glitch when you save (or it autosaves) the game and it cuts out the music after the save. That would be a worthy bug fix.
