Those of you who prefer to play Fallout 3 on the PC and have yet to download Operation: Anchorage DLC should take note of some reported issues. Forum users at the official Games for Windows site are reporting that the game fails to recognize the DLC in some instances. According to a GFW forum mod, it takes a couple of minutes to validate the DLC (see: boot up your game, go into the Wastelands, wait), but some users are still having problems accessing the content.
It's unclear whether the updated GFW Live interface plays a role or if it's just an isolated DLC bug, but we hope that Bethesda and Microsoft step in and clear this up soon.

I just can't seem to get excited about this expansion pack, now that I know they won't release the level cap until the third expansion pack drops in March. I'm not even excited about playing the game at all at this point, to be honest. All I have left are the Nuka cola challenge and about 20 more places to visit and explore, but what's the point when all that XP would just go to waste?
No big deal... just gonna go back to playing Left 4 Dead for a couple weeks till Halo Wars comes out, which should keep me plenty occupied till March.

only problems I've had on PC was when you first go to anchorage the clouds have trees on them (its not snow, they're 50 game miles above the mountains) and after I complete the quest, the next time I boot up the game it starts all over again! (but the NPC's are in the same positions they were at the end. (nice dodge of spoilers there, huh?)

I love when the pirated version of a game works perfectly while the version loaded with overbearing DRM is fucked up as a result of it. Such justice.

so someone who decided to support a game developer by spending their hard earned money is punished, and you call that justice?

By supporting a game developer by buying a product with unreasonable DRM such as being required to be online to use a damn mod, they are supporting the use of that DRM. So yes, I do.

Before anyone craps on PC gaming, just remember that PC gamers got this for free.
And I have the 360 version, so let's be reasonable here. [a possibly unreasonable request of this crowd!]

I have it for PS3 and PC.
And if you have the PC version there is no point in paying for this DLC, you can get it as a mod for free. But that being said, even after all the mods from Nexus, I don't play Fallout 3 anymore.

It appears the PC version of GTA4 also has some "The Lost and Damned" DLC files already included to be unlocked.

Or maybe the fact that, most of the content in this 'Premium Mod" is already out to the public via... the public. Level Cap increase, play beyond the story.. Those were out before this 'Premium Mod'. You don't need to download an illegal copy when everything is already out in the open.

Yeah I have the issue where it doesn't show up in-game because I installed fallout 3 (via steam) on my 500 GB D: drive as opposed to my 32GB C:

Well mine's updated, so it has the Download's option in the menu, but if I click on it says theres no downloadable content.
Also been having issues past few day's where it won't sign me into Live, which means I cant play from my save's.
I'm not so bothered for OA, I want the Blood of the Steel(is that the name). I'm just worried that GFWL will balls up DOW:II cos that is using it for matchmaking. I hear load's of praise from 360 owner's for Live, but GFWL seem's a huge cock up, which is a amazing as it comes from Microsoft, who push all the gaming stuff with GFW, Xbox, DirectX etc. So whatever's wrong with it I hope they sort it out soon.

INCREDIBLY EASY TO FIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if you can't get it work you have to manually move the DLC files to your fallout 3 data folder.
So go here:
XP: C:\documents and settings\USER NAME\App Data\Local\Microsoft\XLive\DLC
Vista C:\users\USER NAME\App Data\Local\Microsoft\XLive\DLC
Then keep going until you see CONTENT and then copy the ESM and 2 BSA files to your default Fallout 3\Data directory. load up the file in the launcher or Fallout Mod Manager and then it will work flawlessly. I tried 10 different ways of getting it to work before i tried this and it worked instantly.

The problem is that when this is fixed, you'll have two copies of the mission installed. So you'll have two quest objectives in your pipboy.

actually it won't because you'd have to then redownload the files for that to happen again.
And the way fallout 3 works once you finish the quest it knows it and won't restart it anyway. trust me i've been modding this game for a while and i've been modding oblivion for over a year.

Is it some sort of rule to bring up piracy or drm when the news has to do something with PC?

I've been having this issue.
Here's the deal - Microsoft DLC downloads into a specific folder. That folder points ONLY to the DEFAULT folder in which Fallout (or whatever game) is supposed to be installed to. So.. If you did a custom install and installed it anywhere other than the default, no worky.
You can get around it by digging into your drive, and copying the mod files to your Fallout data directory (exactly like modding Oblivion)... which allows you to play it, but then you don't get the GFW achievements, because you're playing it as a mod instead of GFW DLC.
Nice work Microsoft. Bethesda. Bravo.
