That sucks, WTF is with the less detailed textures on the PS3 version? I was going to buy it, but I guess I'll borrow it from my friend after hes done. They're not going to get a purchase out of me.

Yeah its taking forever, I'm at 68% about a half hour into the download. I guess everyone else was waiting to download it too.

If the final game requires another 5GB install I'm going to be screwed. My 60GB PS3 can't take anymore of these required installs....I'll have to delete something...but what? WHAT!??

Look, it's not rocket science.... you simply delete game data (not save data) for a game you're not currently playing. Simple as that. If you ever go back to that game, the game data will re-install itself, and you'll be able to continue from your save.

Also, if you have any HD videos on your hard drive, delete them (or at least move them to an external).

So ironic, the people that bash the Wiis storage space. It's all in perspective. What good is a 60GB harddrive wihen you're faced with minimum required installs of 5GBs??

Lars:

I never said it was rocket science, but I'm sure you have the intelligence to appreciate the burden of having to reinstall and uninstall crap just to play them if it strikes your fancy. I popped in an old Gamecube game just for the heck of it and never had to worry about it not loading up straight away.

I just upgraded my ps3 to a 320 gig Hard drive and it was REALLY EASY TO DO. Just look it up on youtube. You don't need a fancy drive that is higher than 5400 rpm just get a notebook 2.5 inch drive that has 5400 rpm and you are set. Best buy is having a sale on them and I got my Western Digital Scorpio 320gb for only $80!! I even got a 640gb External drive for only $90!! I'm set! Plus if you want to do it the VERY EASY way just buy the external and connect it via usb for more Hard Drive space, capiche?

I have an external but I learned about using it on the PS3 after I had filled it up with stuff, and the problem being it's not formatted for the PS3. I forget the nuances of it but one is a FAT32 and the other is an NTSC or something like that and I'd have to reformat the external to match it and totally don't want to lose my stuff because developers are stupid and don't make installing optional like Valkyrie Chronicles did and a few others. But thanks for the tips.

Sorry, but no. Once again, the PS3 gets the shaft with muddy, blurry textures compared to the 360 version.

Yeah that's unfortunately true, I saw the side by side. It's not terribly noticeable like in some games, but really all the bigger size means is Capcom letting us know they still don't know how to compress / program for the PS3 all that well.

Still, I'm getting the PS3 version once again simply because the controller is better.

It sucks because the PS3 is capable of better, but it always gets boned on multi platform releases.

I didn't like it. It's an action game with Resident Evil controls. If they didn't half-ass it and made it actually control like an action game, I'd be looking forward to it.

I also can't stand babysitting the computer character, no matter what kind of game it is!

That's my beef with RE4. They turned the series into an action game but kept the same basic controls of the originals. I've heard they did so to try to keep the suspense, but it feels like a lazy cop-out excuse to me.

Having said that, I loved RE4, just felt like we should have been able to side step and shoot while moving, etc.

Ditto.

This was my first adventure into the ResidentEvilandia and I'm not sure if this is the kind of thing the fanboys are expecting and how it's supposed to be, but I am not impressed. The controls suck and the entire gameplay reminded me of another game that did something like this albeit much better - L4D.

To each his own I guess.

I'm sure many many people will have this point of contention with the game (as they have with previous RE's).

Personally, I'm fine with it. The inability to run and shoot is a good choice of realistic touch IMO. My biggest problem is the zombies, how they run up to you then stand there a foot from you to wait for you to shoot them.

It's realistic not to be able to run and shoot? Wow, if the US Army subscribed to that logic I'm sure the terrorists would win. =)

The worst part is that in RE4 I would always run back, or on top of a roof top then shoot as the enemies came in, when I tried to do that in the demo some bitch just kept yelling for me to help her. They should have kept this in the survival horror genre and not made it co-op, or made it control like uncharted/gears.

You can run and shoot all you like in real life. You just can run and aim very well. In the military, your best shot is one that is aimed while still and behind cover. If you have to move while firing, you either move slowly, or you don't expect to hit anything.

RE4 gets a free pass because they made some significant changes from 3. The clunky controls in an action game were easier to overlook because it was radically different from previous games, and (I'm guessing) was seen as a transition to a full-on action game.

Five advances nothing, but also doesn't fix anything. No free pass this time.

(Full disclosure: I wish they kept the "survival horror" aspects from the first games and released 4 and 5 as a sort of offshoot action series)

Probably they had to include more of the core and extended libraries to compile it for the PS3 architecture. It most likely has nothing to do with quality.

Whoa, major negativity in here. I just played it today for 360, I think it's okay as far as the action goes but they gotta work on the storyline. Also, I'm not sure but is this the first time they've used the word "Fuck" in any of the RE series? I know they use "Shit" all the time.

i like the controls, i never had any problems in resi4 at all, i think that not been able to move while aiming add suspense because for one you dont know what behind you and you cant move which means you have to keep looking.

I dont see every ones beef, because everyone i know think resi4 is the best ps2 game ever and they nver once moaned at the contols. Plus it wouldnt be resi if you could move and shoot.
