"Daigo has been seen playing SF4"

Seen is an understatement; according to the charts, he's the best SFIV Ryu player in the world.

Considering his skills, this is really no surprise, but anyways.

I should have pre-ordered and imported Tatsunoko back in October, right before the pound tanked. It's real expensive now.

I'm still waiting for a Tatsunoko vs. Capcom localization... I will wait until April 26 (my birthday) and if the game is not announced by then, I will import it.

By the way... nice selection of games. I hope Marvel vs. Capcom 2 comes to Live Arcade, even with the original sprites... no need for re-drawn sprites.

Yeah that'd really go down well. SD sprites are basically large balls of fuzz on LCD sets. If you use the old sprites in SF:HD it looks like someone smeared vasoline on the TV. MS/Soiny wouldn't allow that to be released

HD CRTs still win.

If they apply a nice but not too over-the-top filter to the 2D art, some AA & AF on the backgrounds (or simply redo them) it should look decent. But i'm not sure if they can just filter the 2D part or not. MVC2 would be 5X the amount of work if they gave it the street fighter HD treatment. And a lot of those animations were bright and colorful, and still look great today, sans the fact they're low-res. If they do plan to release it, I hope they at least re-balance the game, and give the player the option of choosing to like SF:HD.

They took it off because they realized it was a party game.

Gone because it's just not that great as a competitive game as Melee. It's way too unbalanced. I love the game, but you can't really say it's balanced.

Brawl is much more balanced than Melee is, though. All Melee is at tournaments in particular is Fox vs Marth :\

yah samfish, hence why people want to ban Meta Knight from most tournaments...

It's more balanced from a character-to-character standpoint. Meta Knight and Pit might be cheap, but both have the problem that they can't kill very easily. I was considering using Pit as one of my mains, he made it past the first round of cuts at least, but i just couldn't kill with him. Same problem with Meta Knight (also with Sonic, truth be told)

Definitely just fox and marth. No Sheik, Falco, Peach, Falcon, IC, Jigglypuff. Anyway, Melee is the better game, I'm sure it's been argued to death as to why :-)

#1 - Nosh, what events have you been to? Meta Knight isn't as 'god tier' as most make him out to be. If there's any supremely unbalanced character in Brawl, it's either Snake or Game and Watch, and even then, good players with those two characters can be beaten by good players with any other character.

#2 - Shortfuse, I'd say it's about as balanced (or unbalanced) as Melee. The character-to-character difference is a lot smaller, but there are more characters, and some are really effective against others, so I'm not ready to call SSBB balanced. I'm not gonna say it's more unbalanced than Melee, though.

#3 - Khan, there's no such thing as 'cheap' in a fighter or in a brawler.

#4 - XStompX, they're both great games in their own right. I don't see why so many people are ready to defame either Brawl or Melee (as both sides of the argument typically argue with the most bullshit, contrived standpoints they can conjure up).

It should be noted.... Tatsunoko vs Capcom is NOT an open event.
Its a 64 man invitational. Should be dope though

I think this is the first time Joystiq has acknowledged Tatsunoko vs Capcom's existence. I was starting to wonder if they had something against the game!

Anyway, I encourage everyone to import TvC if they can. It's definitely worth every penny.

well, I don't blame them...

The other VS. games had advantages over this one, Marvel because of the huge mainstream worlwide appeal, and SNK for the huge appeal in both the anime and gaming industries.

Tatsunoko characters are not that widely known here in the US, unless you are from japan and/or watch animes.

Not only that, but the title is also being hit by the SF4 hype

I think there's a reasonable chance it would sell better than SNK did. It certainly seems to have a lot more hype to it, at least. I would never expect it to have huge blockbuster sales, though.
Capcom seems to understand that, too...at least the employees who post on their forums. But I know they've said they REALLY want to bring it over, it's just a matter of licensing issues.

That's what bringing us Fanboys over to The Stiq offers: our niche loves can now get some airtime on Joystiq. I've been carrying the torch for Tats vs Caps (what the cool kids on the street are calling it) for awhile now.

Wow, 4 Street Fighter events >.>

Nice to see tatsunoko vs Capcom get some love. I'll wait a while for possible localization, but will likely import it by April or may.

And kinda surprised to see Brawl not on there again, although also not very surprised at the same time

Brawl isn't there because the Brawl crowd complained too much about the rule sets from Evo 2k8. No items is a big deal with the Smash hardcore and the Evo directors probably didnt care for that drama anymore.
