The man is certainly entitled to his own opinion. Capcom is probably the best in the business but they have gotten so big they seem like more of a publisher than a developer.

nah fatass, they are.

Did you know that the rumored ICE Team, yes that awesome team that is in charge of Edge tools, is located on the Naughty Dog HQ?

I am sure you know it already, and is why you have chosen the avatar you have, but man, that is highly offensive.

I disagree ×1,000,000Insomniac & Ubisoft own all.Insomniac with Spyro series for PS1, R & C series for PS2 & PS3 now even the FPS gory Resistance series.Ubisoft with PoP, some of the best games ever made period!!!! Assassin's Creed, Far Cry series, Tom Clancy's series & franchises, list goes on.I mean ND is a great developer but really who set some dynamic foundations in the Playstation brand for E.G? Insomniac did. Will Naughty Dog be one of the greatest? Hoperfully one day as they're growing larger & larger as a developing company.

cant' wait! played the first one 7 times...doesn't get old.

uncharted 1 should have at least 9 out of 10
uncharted 2 will be a 10/10

so there's still no sign of sully or elena...
the new gameplay sounds promising
i hope the next article will have a gameplay video!

I kind of liked Uncharted. I've finished it a few times and am only missing two trophies (finishing on hard and extreme). Things I'd like to see changed:

- The dialogue. Good God it was awful in Uncharted 1. Get some better writers and try to give characters some cynicism and depth.
- Don't make difficulties unlockables. Seriously. I played through U:DF on normal before the trophy patch, again after the trophy patch, and now just can't motivate myself to finish it a third time just for the damn trophy (and again after that for the platinum). There's nothing rewarding about playing the game on a harder setting.
- Higher resolution. Rather than adding more shader effects and things, I'd like the game to be in 1080p. That's a graphics difference you can really notice. Uncharted 1 was gorgeous. If they've learned how to extract more power, use it to scale those graphics to 1080p, not adding more detail on the same low-resolution picture.

I liked the dialogue. It's meant to be slightly cheesy - it's based on all those old adventure movies.

@ KarlW
I don't think having the game run at 1080p is feasible on the PS3 hardware, even with all the programming wizardry Naughty Dog has up their sleeves. Gran Turismo 5 isn't actually 1920x1080, but actually 1280x1080 with a widescreen field of view, upscaled to 1920x1080. Maybe if Sony had left all 16 ROPs in the G71 unlocked, and added another 256MB of video memory 1080p could have been standard in every game. With that said, even though I have a 1080p HDTV, 720p still looks quite nice on it.

the dialogue is fine...
i like the expressions of drake, like the trailer in train where he fell, his half crying-half laughing. haha

*SPOILER*
the only odd thing was the nazi monsters...they came like from nowhere.

the only problem in uncharted 1 was the gun fights too much of those...
i was expecting more puzzles with the use of the diary, but didn't happen.

got all the trophies. it wasn't hard at all at crushing difficulty if your a veteran gamer, but for casual gamers it is really crushing.

"Thankfully, their clothing will still play a role of sorts, with lighter-colored garb signaling easily foiled foes, while darker equipment foreshadows a tougher battle."

RIVER CITY RANSOM FTW!

The first game really had some of the most impressive visuals this generation has seen and maybe even the best. The great thing about the first game was the presentation of all the scenes. It really felt like you were playing through an awesome action movie and Drake was such a likable character.

I'm already sold on this game without having ever heard a thing of it. This just reinforces my passion for this game and the developer. Can't wait. It makes me want to go play through Uncharted again. I haven't done so since they released the trophy patch.

Ouch, that's a long wait. Killzone 2 is coming out in less than a month's time, and Uncharted 2 is coming out at the end of the year. That's like eight/nine plus months of not gaming. XD

Greg on IGN explained a lot more than you, is this because they saw more or just explain everything much better?

" Our hero shot the top of the shield so that it would lean back at just a bit of an angle, ran up the makeshift ramp"

"Drake moved to a telephone pole, shimmied up the wood, leapt to some bricks on a building, grabbed onto a sign, and basically took all of his jungle antics into a cityscape"

Those little details like shooting the shield to run up it help;)

I liked the first game, but I'm a little disappointed to find out there's a "new love interest." Why can't an action/adventure game not have a love interest? Or at least bring back the girl from the first game...

Not only are love interests an important part of adventure plots, replacing them in consecutive iterations is apparently also a must. :P
Elena better die in the first scene or something, or I hope Nathan makes some passing remark about her turning out to be too clingy for his liking or something funny like that.

the first Uncharted was okay. i completed it once, didn't really feel like doing it again.

i really love how the environments look on this game.

i'll get this depending on the reviews. i'm not buying Killzone 2 and RE5 though.

Where's Elena?? Man, it's such a cliche for an action title to have a new girlfriend for every new outing...

Cliche is kind of the point - the game is a homage to the films of that genre. I agree though - bring Elena back! Love triangle w/ a catfight? That would make the game even more awesome than it's already going to be.

omgomgomg....can't wait...can't wait..can't wait..

I now have to play the original again in between planets of Mass Effect.

That's it! Shepard finds a mass effect relay that functions as a time travel device, he goes back to the past, meets Nathan, who's already met Lara Croft and...and...

Ok, I'm stupid...not had coffee yet....

(That'd be so awesome tho.....)

So....
do we find out why there's no Elana in this sequel? I think we were left with the impression that she and Nathan hooked up in the end of the first one, forever destined to search for treasure together. I loved her in Drake's Fortune, and I'll miss their interactions in this one, I'm sure.
On the other hand, I could care less to see Sully again, even though Nathan and he go way back, apparently.

I actually skipped the first one, went to buy it a couple of months ago, pre-owned, and it didn't run! - Anyone else run into this? - Could it be a really old disc on new firmware?

This one looks totally sick, reckon I'll be able to jump straight into this one without playing the previous?

Probably, but play the original anyway - it is so much fun. One of the very best characters this gen.

Yes my main complaint has been possibly curtailed!!!!!! YES!!!! Bye bye unrealistic need to shoot a tank-top wearing moron multiple times taking a player out of the game. Awesome, I'm there even more now! Naughty Dog is Top Dog!

You had me at "Traversal Gunplay". I liked the first and the second seems to build off of that. Co-op would be cool but definately not a deal breaker for me.

I'm dying of happiness reading all the hand's-on previews around the web and watching those gorgeous screenshots.

The first game is one of my favorites this gen.... scratch that! one of my favorites ever! it does nearly everything i like in videogames and gets them next to perfection, sequel looks like it's going to be improved on all fronts.

but i hope co-op, if confirmed, is an additional mode or something, i still would like a stand alone, moody, puzzle oriented adventure. multiplayer games are always fast arcade-like experiences.

Geez... I've just been overcome with an unbeatable urge
to by a PS3.

But does this game actually include any exploration... or has it turned into GoW2?

Very much looking forward to this!

My only question is; what happened to Elana? I thought she rocked in the last game, kinda disappointed to see she's gone. I hope Drake's not gonna wind up like some Bond dude with a new, random co-star each game.

Cannot wait to play! This and Ass'sCreed 2 are my two most anticipated sequels!
