Prototype slated for June release
.jpg)
"Hands-on – fans get their first chance to play the highly anticipated open-world/action thriller, PROTOTYPE, planned for release in June."
We can't say for sure if we're excited for the potential 12 hours of shape-shifting, open-world madness yet, but look for our first impressions later this week (though as the picture above confirms -- yes, you can shoot blood in all directions). If you're really jonesin' for some brutality in the meantime, check out the latest trailer from last month's CES.

Prototype seems to be shaping up as a cool game this year (no pun intended), its a real shame that because its meant to be an open world, we wont be able to see a demo, but it seems like i will be buying this game, but obviously when it becomes cheaper.
And with many awesome games anticipated this year, this will definitely be better as long as we don't have a November/December madness parade...
Lennoko @ Feb 3rd 2009 11:00AM
Crackdown had a demo. I could see it done
ittybittygirl @ Feb 3rd 2009 11:00AM
We got a demo for Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, Mercenaries, Mercenaries 2, and Just Cause. I don't see why it couldn't be done here.
Throw us into a mission or two that let us explore a limited section of the game world and possibly (like Hulk's demo) force us to do it all under a ridiculous two minute timer. They need a demo for this one. Unlike Assassin's Creed, it's still relatively unknown.

I'm still surprised Actiblizzard held onto it though, seeing as it looks quite good. Looking forward to it.

I'm so stoked for this game. Might just have to break out Hulk: Ultimate Destruction in the meantime to make the wait a little easier.

Nice, I've liked the sound of this project since it's announcement and my interest hasn't waned by a noticeable degree.

Sounds like a perfect release window for this game. Ubisoft should be taking notes and watching sales figures.
ScottG13 @ Feb 3rd 2009 10:48AM
Good deal. This one is on my "Yay List" for 2009.

I'm not too sure about this game. It looks like its got a lot of potential but it could all go wrong!! We will have to see come June!!
On a completely unrelated note I'm nearly at 100 Joystiq posts!! Am I officially no longer a Noob?? I'll have to like update when I hit 100!!

Awww shucks!!! Thanks Levi!!
Duke @ Feb 3rd 2009 3:21PM
I too think the game looks great but I am worried that it won't turn out to be as good as it looks. Lets hope they can pull it off.
The AC Dude @ Feb 3rd 2009 8:33PM
It feels like they're trying to do to much. It looks good on paper: "YOU CAN LIKE EAT PEOPLE AND DESTROY TANKS AND HELICOPTERS AND STUFF ITS SO AWESOME!!!!!". But in the end i think its going to be mediocre, with like "press a for shield, press b to morph" to the point where it feels like you're not really putting all these moves together. They might and hopefully will be able to pull it off, but I'm not that optimistic.
Mr. Joe @ Feb 3rd 2009 1:18PM
i'm excited about this game. and if i'm excited, then you should be excited!
Vcize @ Feb 3rd 2009 1:41PM
Any word on online co-op for this?
Anticrawl @ Feb 3rd 2009 1:56PM
Was originally announced to have co-op with the game, but the developer threw it out. Single-player only now. After being spoiled by Crackdown I don't think I could buy this game without co-op.
Giroro @ Feb 3rd 2009 3:24PM
Do want!
