Capcom plans on supporting PlayStation Home in a big way. Famitsu has revealed brand new Home content based on Capcom's upcoming games, Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil 5. SFIV will receive a post-release patch that will allow players to meet in Home and then jump directly into a Street Fighter match.
In addition to game launching, Capcom will sell costumes to wear in the Home world. This isn't the first time Capcom has released Street Fighter costume DLC on a PlayStation system -- LittleBigPlanet also features a handful of premium costumes for purchase.
Capcom is also developing a Resident Evil 5 game space, which looks remarkably like the game's opening level. Here, players will be able to congregate and participate in various RE-themed events. We're not sure if those events will involve eating other Home users alive, but we hope so.
[Thanks, Copland!]

I'm beginning to look at the PS3 like a desktop PC. Not because of the size of it (hardy-har-har) but the way Home, Life with Playstation, PSstore and Trophies all seem like separate applications. You could quite easily pick anyone one of those features and place it on either another console or on a desktop and it wouldn't feel 'out of place'.
What Sony want to be focusing on instead of Vidzone or a Movie Store (or charging me £7.99 for a demo and then having to ring up a premium rate phone number for a refund - WHICH I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED!), and instead should be focusing on something much more important. A universal identity. Something to link all these features and applications up. Why have Life with Playstation when something similar could (probably) quite easily be incorporated into Home. There's plenty of things wrong with the structure of the XMB and the software included once you have a closer look.
It seems the only thing that links a few of the applications together so far is the in-game XMB which is still poor at the best of times. They blew many a trumpet about the incorporated BD player so why is it that I can't access my friends list OR background download whilst watching a film? Let alone playing a DVD or PS1/PS2 software.
I assure you I'm not a fanboy and I'm not purposely trolling I just needed to mention a few issues that if they were adapted, would make the PlayStation experience much more engrossing. It just seems in the two years I've had my PS3 (I'm in the U.K. btw) that the only thing that's really changed is a new coat of paint for the store and a few more applications. Sure, it might be a different story for others but it's just my personal view on it.
The point of this tripe I'm writing? Well, if the PS3 had this universal identity between programmes then I'm pretty sure I'd start using them a bit more often and I'd imagine I'd start spending some money on Home etc.
Anyway, Killzone 2 demo is out this Thursday apparently (looks at Threespeech) and don't buy Baja. It's like Smugglers Run - but worse.
Much Love,
Bear :)

Makes perfect sense and something I have always been wondering, Sony likes adding stuff, but they never keep it linked together meaning you have to go here for this or go there for that.
Sony seems to be rather confused, they have home, but also have a friends list, why isn't the friends list in home? Heck, why isn't home the XMB, why can't the XMB be the bedroom you have but just offline for those not connected. I agree, life with playstation could have been one thing accessed through the Home PDA.
Things are getting rather messy, and its quite annoying.

Why does Home make all the avatars look so soulless?

The RE5 space looks kick ass, though they should have added a simulation as a mini game, that would be cool, sorta like lazer tag :D To get you preped up for the real thing.
Capcom is big, theres no reason whhy they can't do an event space on the scale as EA with all the classics etc

Wow, those Street Fighter costumed people look freaky. Look at how they're standing - stiff and upright, with stiff arms.
They look like un-rotted zombies suffering from rigor mortis.

Looks neat, although I doubt I'll ever use it. Far too much loading in Home for me... I loose interest far too fast.

Honestly that SF home thing like a bad cosplay. But that RE Home looks AMAZING!!!!! I am still not happy with Home but I gotta admit it that RE is freakin sweet.

I was going to chastise Noshino. but Zubri's gunt takes the gake.
I think there are a few reasons why certain BD-xmb features are limited.
Just to start, I'm sure Sony doesn't want people using hacks or other system exploits to play BD "backups". I'm also confident that they have a strategy on why/when they'll start opening up user/developer access. The lack of certain features actually allude to this. It's to be expected and is par for the course for a non-mature technology.
That said, I see 'your' point and wish for the same features to be added sooner rather than later.
