Nintendo's lawyers have finally done what countless children of the '80s only dreamed of: silenced the maniacal, mocking laughter of the Duck Hunt dog. ... Or at least they've quieted the canine on iPhones, having a clone of the classic removed from the App Store after only a month of availability.
Let this serve as a reminder to all who might try a similar stunt ... there's only room for one company in this industry to coast on the past successes of Nintendo.

No - they just don't want anyone else to give gamers what they want! It's kind of like a militaristic dictatorship, actually. The Nintendo fanboys won't roam if there's nowhere else to go. "DO NOT PURCHASE THESE INFERIOR DEVICES - THE DSI PLAYS MP3S TOO. DON'T COMPLAIN ABOUT US ABANDONING THE HARDCORE - WE WILL RELEASE ANOTHER ZELDA GAME.. SOMETIME.. IN THE FUTURE.. IT WILL BE AWESOME, WE ARE SERIOUS...

I think that was just when they released it. It supposedly had some weird controllers or something too. But I bought this last week for my touch and it has the dog, much better controls and the exact same sounds from the original. It still has some bugs, and I wish they could of fixed it before it was taken down, but for $1 Im not complaining.

Guess you've never heard of:
"The Curious Case of The Sony PSP"
a console that sold really bad when lots of games where being released and started selling amazingly well once companies stopped making games due to the homebrew community which includes, you guessed it, Nintendo's full back catalog.

If you listen closely, you can hear the annoying laughter of the dog laughing at this...
Oh wait, that's my brother playing Duck Hunt on the NES.

Another example of how Apple "borrows" other people's ideas for their own greedy purposes. What I want to know is - don't they have lawyers reviewing the apps before it hits the store ?
