How much more Ultimate can EA's upcoming PS3 version of Red Alert 3 get? Although the Blu-ray disc will be bursting with extras, EA is planning on offering even more through DLC. Multiple map packs will be released through the PlayStation Store. But guess what? The first map pack will be absolutely free and will be available "right about the time the game comes out in March."
We thoroughly approve of EA's handling of the late release of Red Alert 3. Unlike other late ports (BioShock comes to mind), EA has made a clear effort to make the PS3 version stand out from the crowd. The addition of free DLC also gets a thumbs up.

So... that's pretty much the same thing as making it alongside the content on the disc, taking it out, and calling it DLC?
Perhaps they didn't have any more space on the disc (doubtful) but that's like me trying to sell a book on eBay for $15.00 and then including a small flashlight for 'free' when the book is being offered for $10.00 anywhere else. The incentive/extra is an illusion.

Iluision?? I paid for this DLC on PC. Its free bcouse you just pay only for the launch price and it already include d xtra content. Contrair to other consoles that paid for the game+DLC. I guess you are the only illusionist that don't get it.

I reckon it'll be free with a little slip of paper in the box with a one use code. As in the 'Free DLC' will be anti-second hand sales tactic. Which i suppose are okay, games are a tad expensive, but the Dev's need feeding.

O I get it. u don't even know what ur statement is. Let me explain. PS3 version include expansion pack the one u bought for 5 dollars on pc. The Introductory price for every non pc games are 59.99. Let say the expansion is not free. means game cost 59.99 + 5 = game real cost for consumer is 64.99. so there is no illusion. Also you could wait for price drop on RA3 let say 39.99. Which means is 39.99 with the expansion pack included. Not means... 39.99+5dlc = to 44.99 for the game plus expansion pack. GET IT. Is easy math 101.

What you're saying is only supporting my statement.
The reason why it's being listed as 'Free DLC' is to try and gain more attention to the PS3 version of the game.
I think it's safe to say that most people interested in this game do not know that the same DLC was offered in the same download as the game was on PC. This makes it seem like an even better deal to the consumer when it isn't. Great business strategy.

Yeah, I've got it for the PC and love it... How is it on the console, though? I still can't imagine playing an RTS without my mouse and keyboard...

I've only played the demos so far but plan on getting this game for PC. I installed the demo on my xbox, played it. Thought it was fun. I was curious to see how different it would be on my PC. My laptop isn't a very good computer and doesn't have anything other then onboard video and i was suprised it even loaded.
When I loaded the game and set the game to my resolution I could see a dramatic difference. The game was now mind breakingly beautiful compared to the xbox version. I looked at my graphics settings and everything was on the lowest possible setting or off (such as terrain textures).
Controlling the game seemed a lot less clunky then it did on the console and overall just seemed to work better. On top of that its only 30 bucks for the PC. Overall I would say if you are a red alert fan and have a moderately ok PC get this for the PC before you ever purchase it for the console.

Great! I was going to pick this one up anyway. And for those who have yet to realize, you can plug in a keyboard to your ps3. Even a wireless one. Yep. Smart.
Anybody know if the ps3 version will have keyboard/hotkey support?

The responsible thing to do here is to include mouse and keyboard support. Otherwise there's no justice being done. Granted, you'd have to include the interface for the PC version, but man, shoot.
