as far as I know they just have cd keys. no weekly activation, no program that sits in the background watching you... just a cd key.

Considering that they only publised Sins and didn't make it themself, your opinion of the company isn't high.

I thought that Galactic Civilization 2 was a good game. Never had time to make it justice though. They didn't have the man power or budget to go big 3D in graphics.

Sins, made by Iron Clad, was mostly made in some guy's basement with a few people. It's incredible what they got to do with limited ressources.

Stardock, as they are hiring more people, will be able to push a little more on the "eye candy" I suppose. It's never been their greatest strenght but they might be able to jump on board soon.

Galactic Civilization 2 was awesome, and as the owner of a 6 year old PC (until tomorrow) I LIKED it's ability to be playable for me.

These guys are one of my favourite devs. I'm glad to hear they're doing well. Sins was fun but I still wish it had some sort of single player story. Can't wait to learn more about Society...I'm not a huge fan of MMOs but an RTSMMO with no fees? Yes please.

This is interesting, seeing that Stardock started off as an OS/2 developer, creating Object Desktop, and other UI Interface enhancements.

Great news. I really respect Stardock's approach and enjoy most of their games, so it's nice to see that they aren't in financial trouble thanks to the economy.

Man I've been waiting for Society forever. From what I've read it should be amazing, including plans to make its graphics scalable, so you can play it on a pc for the full experience, and perform key tasks while away via cellphone. As long as they formulate a way to keep people who only play 24/7 from completely dominating players who only put in a few hours (which I believe was another goal they had listed), it should be a great experience.

As far as their newly announced title goes; Stardoc has always created great games, so their RPG just adds another game to look forward to. In a way, Stardoc reminds me of Blizzard. They just decide to enter a new genre and come out with hit after hit.

This is only slightly related, but ObjectDock is one of the best programs ever created for the pc.
