This week on XBLA in Brief, we take a look at R-Type Dimensions, a new compilation of R-Type and R-Type 2 in one fancy Arcade package. You want 2D graphics? You got 'em. Remixed 3D graphics? Those are in there too. Crazy 2D and 3D camera options? Oh yeah. About the only thing it doesn't have is an attractive price: It's 1200 points. Still, hardcore shooter fans should take notice.

I just played the trial and it is so nostalgic! I love the way you can change the mode at any time to 2D or 3D. Sure its not the best XBLA game available but it is good old fashioned fun!
Question: Since X3F doesn't apply as a name for the site anymore, only for the Fancast, and you renamed Ask X3F because it'd be like asking the Fancast not the site, are you not going to rename X3F TV too? or is the explanation like "it's like the Fancast but like on TV"? because I always thought the meaning was xbox360fanboy on TV.
With all that money the new Ultastiq is saving by not having to pay people for double and triple posts how about Joystiq's budget include funds to purchase XBLA games for the XBLA in Brief feature? After all, we can all get the trial for free anyway. At any rate, I appreciate the videos and commentary. Carry on...
Great video Richard I was laughing the whole time when you were doing that great keanu impression while switching between 2d and 3d. This game looks cool I had it on the snes and loved it.
I have a feeling that if they were to release R-Type by itself for 800 points, and then R-Type II a few months later for another 800 points, no one would be complaining very much.
