Free Street Fighter IV 'Championship Mode' DLC, costume pack pricing announced

Expected to hit shortly after the game's release, the add-on will introduce three significant features aimed at hardcore players. Replay Mode is pretty much what it sounds like: share recorded matches, watch top-ranked ones and vote for your favorites. The enhanced tournament matching system will deliver "improved tournament match making for beginners and mid-level players," with Capcom explaining that "competitors earn Grade Points (GP) to earn entry into more advanced tournaments." Finally, there will be two new point systems -- Championship and Tournament -- for measuring player skill.
The release dates and pricing for alternate character costumes have also been confirmed. The costumes will be released weekly on XBLM and PSN in themed sets containing one costume per character. Each set will run 320
($4) on XBLM and $3.99 on the PS Store. The full schedule and details of each set are after the break.
02/17/09 -- Brawler Pack will include alternate costumes for: Zangief, E.Honda, Rufus, El Fuerte and Abel.
02/24/09 -- Femme Fatale Pack will include alternate costumes for: Chun-Li, Cammy, Sakura, Rose and C.Viper.
03/03/09 -- Shoryuken Pack will include alternate costumes for: Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Gouken and Dan.
03/10/09 -- Shadowloo Pack will include alternate costumes for: Seth, M.Bison, Sagat, Balrog and Vega.
03/17/09 -- Classic Pack will include alternate costumes for: Guile, Dhalsim, Fei-Long, Blanka and Gen.

Why does Capcom need to charge for the alternate costume. I love street fighter but im not about to spend $20 just to buy one alternate costume for each character. This should be an unlockable feature. Tekken 6 will offer way more costume feature's and it will be free!!!!!

I would guess they're being being hush about it to maximize sales. If they announce the all-in-one pack, people will instead wait for that and kill potential sales for the individual packs.
