Halo Wars demo now accepting recruits via the XBLM

whenever i goto download it gives me a status code and i can't download it.

First it isn't showing on the new demos section.
Then when i go to all demos and search "H" it doesn't show up
Then when i simply search "All" it finally appears but won't download, it comes up with a status error code.
Bad times.

can't download from xbox.com either.

Be damned to the Silver account one week restriction. Guys, post opinions for us less fortunate!

i think he meant that there is error codes, and it wont even let me download from the Xbox site to xbox so they probly took it down for the time being or there just WAY to many ppl downloading it at this time.

I was having the same error as you all, but when I tried redownloading the demo via the XBLM website, it said I had already purchased it, clicked to download again and it went through, so all I can recommend is that you keep trying.

Same problem here. Just took about 25 tries to get the thing to start the download. Its 7am Est. Micro$oft is never prepared and they just love to piss off people that own an xbox.

So there are two demoes on the store right now one is 1.4GB and the other is 1.5GB. I don't think it says it's a french version or anything. Guess I just download both to find out.

I've having no problems downloading both copies!! I have two to dl here in Canada, one is Halo Wars Demo and the other is Halo Wars - Demo. So I'm dl both. ;)

The controls were surprisingly good. Movement and attacking / secondary is easy. Main building and training, etc, are done with your thumbsticks via "pie" menu, so you don't miss the kb/m much.

The game is very easy to get into and the cut scenes are very polished.

Looks like this one is a buy for me.

The cutscenes suck you into the Halo universe, boosting your motivation and telling an amazing story. i allready like the main characters and how things evolve around them! Cant wait to play the full campaign, this is a must buy! (at least for me it is).

Next, the controls feel really smooth, selecting single units, switching through unit types, moving them, attacking etc is straight forward and easy to handle.. what im missing though, are waypoints and attack queues! maybe im bling, but havent found out a way to give queue orders.. the d-pad is there for selectin your army, base and special abilities from space.. (cool stuff, wont spoil it :)). yeah, you can either select units locally (rb) meaning whats on your screen, or globally (lb) meaning all units you got. i miss control groups somehow.. for split attacks from the flanks.. hm.

graphics are smooth clear, and do honor the original Halo series in every way.. from alliance grunts to troopers, it has it all! detailed, crisp, eye-cand.. ahhh gotta play the 2 campaign levels again! :D

the download issue is due to high demand i believe, so just try it over and over again (thats how it worked for me) or go to the market place site, add it do your download queue restart your xbox, and it will automatically start donwloading.

Looking forward to trying this. I suck at RTS and I've never played one on the 360 but I've liked all of Ensemble's past games quite a bit.

I am dl right now. Starting to wish I would not have downgraded from 10mb cable to 3mb dsl. Did save 40 bucks a month though, tough times.

the halo series fucking sucks, i dont understand why ppl are so head over heels for halo, the 360 has so many better games than this. boo this comment all you want, you all suck anyways. (and no i am not a ps3 fanboy)

This has certainly made my day, I think this could actually be the first Halo game I thouroughly enjoy, not that I didn't enjoy the FPS's but they began to bore me rather quickly, I think tactics and strategy is more my thing, bring on the wars! :D

queued up from website just now, downloading while im playin dead space.. i love being able to browse xblm on xbox.com and not leave a game to start a download.

been lookin forward to this demo. imma rts fan, not a halo man. this might be the only way ill play a halo branded game and really enjoy it. except halo risk, i might pick that up just to have a 360 related board game..

I would love to grab this demo if it weren't for the fact that my HALO edition 360 just RRoD'd on me and its now on a trip to the repair center. Oh yeah, 100 bucks later since I had not three red rings, but a single one. You know, because somehow that makes it my fault. Anyway, hope all of you have fun!

if anyone needs a 48hr code to get the demo i have one, just one.. maybe ill post it in a bit and whoever gets it got it.. we'll see, i cant figure out how to pm the guy that needed one..

Man that was great! Plays just as expected. I love the warthog physics. =D
