Hand Circus's Rolando is one of the iPhone's breakout hits (IGN called it the iPhone's "killer app" in their review), so it's no surprise that the developer would want to follow up the Loco Roco-esque puzzle-platformer in some way. Creator Simon Oliver told Pocket Gamer that plans are in the works for more Rolando content of some kind.
"I can't say too much about this now, but you'll see some more activity on the Rolando front in 2009," Oliver said, "and I've got a couple of new game ideas bubbling away at concept stage right now."
This could mean some kind of new version of the first game with added content, or a sequel, or even a game on another platform -- although Rolando's success on the iPhone platform will probably inspire Oliver to stay there. Whatever the details of the content, this is great news for people who like rolling little circular guys around.

LocoRoco-esque?
It's pretty much a copy. But I never said that was a bad thing :)

After playing Rolando I can NEVER go back to LocoRoco. The tilt controls are just too good. While LocoRoco is technically a better game, tapping L and R won't ever work again.

ugh, no.
From having to tilt the iPhone to having to use touch controls to raise, lower, or turn platforms, I wish it had the more simple controls of LocoRoco.
Pretty much the only thing that I see going for it is its price, but from every other perspective, including controls, LocoRoco is better has down

Almost everyone I've talked to agrees that tilt controls for a game like LocoRoco is way better. I do agree that LocoRoco is a better game in every aspect apart from the controls though. It is, after all, a retail handheld game in comparison to Rolando which was developed in 6 months with a much smaller crew. And on a completely new platform.
And how can the controls get any simpler than Rolando? You tilt and tap, and later on drag. Playing LocoRoco 2 I'm literally tilting my PSP while I'm playing - being able to control it that way is so much better.

After buying this i found that my Loco-ripoff claims were unfounded, the game stands on its own merits.
Oh and this week a PERFECT conversion of the old Amiga classic "Pinball Dreams" popped onto the store. Its fuck-awesome.

!! I didn't know this game was out! I was following it a long time ago, even sent tips on it to Joystiq without a peep. I figured it's release would be worth an announcement, since the game looked totally PSP worthy. I'm gonna have to pick it up!
Finally, with this and Puzzle Quest, I don't feel like I'm wasting my money I'm the app store.

On topic: Hm... interesting.
Off topic: I was robbed! They took my Wii and 360, yet strangely left the 360 games stacked neatly next to the TV (they took the Wii games). So, for the people with red ring experience, I have a few questions:
Are my achievements attached to my Xbox Live account, or are they attached to my console? Can I re-download everything onto a new 360 or will they give me a fit about it?
And now... the question of controversy: should I repurchase the Wii? I'm undecided at this moment.

Your acheivements are saved online; you really ought to change your password as well. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm betting you could do it on xbox.com. You can use your content on any console as long as you're logged in, but transferring the content to a new console (so you don't have to be online to use it) isn't quite the same. When I got the RROD in the past, I had to call Microsoft and give them the new console id to get the stuff moved, but I believe there's an even easier way to do it now.

"should I repurchase the Wii?"
Well, you have to ask yourself some questions, more likely this three
- Can you afford to buy a Wii as a secondary console and games for it?
If yes, then answer these
- Were you getting any satisfaction from it? was it at least being used a few hrs per week on the last 4-5 months?
- Are you interested in any upcoming Wii game on the next 4 to 6 months?

Wow - that sucks man!
Regarding the re-purchase of a Wii, if I were you, I might look into a PS3. The library is getting stronger with some great titles set to hit this year.

You should wait to repurchase your wii untill you can afford to buy games you want with it.

I tried going to xbox.com, and I went into account settings, but I can't find any way to change it from there. It just gave me information about how to do it from my Xbox. But maybe I missed something?
@Professor Lario: I agree that the PS3 is starting to get some strong titles, but my sister already has one and I've been playing PS3 games over there from time to time. Not sure it's worth purchasing myself when I already have the capability to play it.
@Noshino: Depends on the insurance and how they handle this. First time being robbed, so I don't know how it works. My playing time on the Wii has been inconsistent. I was playing Resident Evil 4, Super Mario Galaxy, Brawl, and some classic games fairly frequently. When I moved, I just left the Wii in a box for a couple of months, preferring to play my 360. Just about a month ago, I got it out and started playing it again (mostly Zelda: Link to the Past and Super Mario RPG). So... I don't know. I do enjoy it, but I don't enjoy it consistently.

Back in the day I always used Mario, Bowser and either Peach or Mallow. This game I'm intentionally trying to use Geno and maybe go non-healer, though I've never tried that before. Wonder if it works.

Sorry to hear about the theft. I would wait and see what your insurer is willing to give you when looking at buying a wii again. If you don't use it too often, then it probably won't be an issue for you to wait and see if you get enough from them to buy it without a further loss. If it was a console you used constantly I could see running to replace everything, but since that's not the case, why not wait.

Who was your preferred team in Super Mario RPG? I usually went with Mario, Bowser and Princess Peach.
