Online fighter Street Fighter Online: Mouse Generation is offering up some goodies in time for Valentine's Day. First up are some chocolate avatars for use in-game. We're not sure why you'd want one, but hey, that's your business.
More interesting is a piece of DLC that provides players with an in-game character that bares resemblance to current U.S. President, Barack Obama. Titled the "YES WE CAN!" pack, this bit of DLC unlocks several different skins for fighters, including the already mentioned Obama clone. We'd ask about a John McCain skin as well, but that guy has already been beat up enough.

Right, because he specifically asked to be in it. It's not that he's internationally popular. Don't you have a corner you should be sulking in?

maybe Capcom was goin to have Tyson or Balrog(boxer) in the game, but at the last minute altered it with Barack Obama
I mean that is the best theory I can come up with the overbite.

Obama and Chocolate avatars? I don't see how people could misconstrue that as racist

political parodies are always legal. political figures cannot sue for slander in the united states.. which is why you see shitloads of president masks and bobble heads, etc. I'm pretty sure richard nixon didn't give everybody permission to make masks that furthered his humiliation after the watergate scandal.

...and I thought the slew of Obama news would slow down or at least stay off this website. I wonder if after 4 years anyone's going to be sick of hearing about what President Obama said every.single.day? Regardless of whether you voted against or for him, it's just too much coverage.

Sweet! This will be the only DLC you don't have to pay taxes on!

..do.. is there a tax on other DLC? I don't understa- OH AHAHAHAHA. You're talking about the nominees that didn't declare gifts or pay taxes on those gifts, and thus didn't get jobs in the administration. Right. Man, those guys not getting jobs in the administration is really hurting the administrations reputation. :P

Yeah, I just bought the Metal Gear DLC for Little Big Planet and it cost me 6.38. Then I bought some new Wii points for RB2 and GH4 DLC and it cost me 21.30 for 2000 points.
But sure, Richardson, Daschle, Killefer, Solis' husband aren't hurting the One's™ reputation at all. His 7 point drop in approval rating since his first day in office and the 12 point drop of support for his idea of a stimulus package shows how his reputation is just soaring! Hell, when his press secretaries, the media, even start to mention his arrogance, you can only HOPE™ that he can find some CHANGE™

If that approval drop for the stimulus is true that's really depressing.
But the Republicans drowning out the experts in the media with their tired tax-cuts-solve-everything bullshit is pretty typical behaviour for people who would rather lower national intelligence than accept that they're wrong - it is precisely the same thing climate change denialists and evolution denialists have honed to a fine craft in the past eight years: confuse the public by bombarding them with mixed messages, despite there being consensus agreement among experts. Eventually people don't know what to think, and err on the side of skepticism, since it would appear that the issue is "up in the air". Honestly shameful.

I imagine Obama selling out on the contents of the stimulus in order to appease the Republicans his party so thoroughly trounced just a few months ago likely played a factor in those lost approval points too, both for himself and the bill, particularly among Democrats. He tried playing nice and the Republicans have basically spat in his hand so far. I hope he wisens up fast and kick those snakes to the curb or he could start bleeding base support. :|
Wait, remind me, are you just here to mindlessly sling Limbaugh bulletins whenever Obama pops up in the news, or are you actually interested in politics? :P

McCain would make an awesome SFIV character - he could use secret techniques he learned while going insane in a POW camp. Like....shooting lasers from his eyes and making people's heads explode or something.

That is true, he would have some cool moves, which makes this Obama character even more weird. What's his special moves, Super Litigation? Reverse Appeasement? Aerial Pocket Emptying?

Freaky...The only thing that would make me think that this is BHO is the "Yes we can" phrase, but then again, Bob the Builder said it first....
Can we build it?

We just have to learn that the rest of the world really likes Obama, even if you personally don't. I'm impressed, though, guys, weeks ago, this would've been flooded with people flaming.
Good job, fellow Joystiqers. Good job.

GAH!!! Enough Obama! He's in the White House and he's the first Ethnic President YAHOO!!! Can we get over the hype now, and its SO EARLY in his administration that we don't know how he'll do as president! Seriously people, its okay to like him, but for any president to have this much hype is ridiculous!
