If they remake the old Splatterhouse in HD, I'll totally buy it.

"premium edition" bonus? does that mean 3 months after the release it'll be available on xbla for $5?

Considering it was merely speculation on the part of the writer, I think your guess is as good as any.

No, silly you. 3 months later it will be avaiable for free on XBLA, but they will call it a mistake and will take it back.

i dont want to be "that guy" but the MediEvil series had you use your arm as a basic ranged weapon and that came out in the late 90's

I didn't play MediEvil, but I'm assuming that was a basic ability?

I.e. you just pop your own arm off and throw it?

Whereas it sounds like in this game, an enemy can dismember YOU, and you can pick up your own pieces for weapons...

Granted, I don't know. just kinda speculating...

I just hope they include the original arcade version instead of the gimped, censored TurboGrafx-16 port that's on the VC. If the idea of fighting an upside down cross as a boss bothers you, you shouldn't be playing this.

"Splatterhouse appears to be the first game to allow players to use their own severed limbs as weapons ... once their bloody stumps regenerate into new arms."

Sorry, Planescape: Torment beat it by nearly a decade. In the game Severed Arm (Yours) is a +1 weapon (with +2 crushing damage). At another point in the game, your intestines get ripped out and turned into a bracelet that gives +2 to AC. And that's just your _own_ body parts.

By the shots in the page, looks fine. But Hockey-mask-guy (I can't remember his name right now) seems to be always in his Hulky form. I remember in the original trilogy this only happened as a temporary power-up of sorts, right? Hulky form is okay and all, but I'd rather play as his more humanly alter-ego.
