PlayStation Home continues to expand, with 24 companies now on board supporting Sony's online platform. We already know of EA and Capcom's plans, but we're curious to see what Atlus, Q? Entertainment, Sega, Konami, Tecmo and Namco Bandai have in store.

It's funny that Home is one of those really impressive apps on my PS3 that I can see would work really well, but hardly ever use. In all fairness, it's still a beta, and I hope the full version includes some of those extremely awesome features like TVs and stereo sets streaming content right from your harddrive.
Yeah, like those features would be feasible in the legal sense. Needless to say, it would still be ridiculously awesome.
Just give us the launching-online-games-from-Home for *all* PS3 games, and I'll be satisfied, I'd even use it more often. Do you reckon that this would involve software updates for all games to which this would apply? I can't, for one, imagine MGO supporting such a feature, if only for their own needlessly complicated (though sophisticated) lobbying system.

that's exactly how i feel. that, i think, was the most important feature of Home and without it, it's just another app that has little to no use. it just feels so disconnected from the gaming aspect of the console. sure i can use it now to chat and meet new people but if i cant just launch into a game or go into a room where i know everyone is playing the same game as me, then what's the point? it has great potential, but it's very obviously not finished yet.

Really ?? Most of us PS3 users didn't care about home from the start because we knew it wasn't going to be good.

This is encouraging. I personally uninstalled home and haven't touched it for a few months. I think I got what it was trying to push at the time, but if they keep evolving the Home space, and giving me compelling reasons to return, I will gladly come back.

Glad to see home gaining support. I'm sure their announcement of how much $$ cash they have made in micro transactions has helped made developers feel warm and fuzzy inside.

From source article... "As of January 2009, Sony Computer Entertainment handed out 24 licenses for PlayStation Home development. Just because a publisher has a license doesn’t automatically mean they have plans to set up shop and hock virtual items. A license means they can do that kind of thing or utilize the PlayStation Home reward system...Paon who holds the rights to a handful of Data East intellectual properties haven’t done anything with theirs."

Why is Square-Enix not on there, they did say they do support the Playstation 3. Anyway, if Square-Enix is going to help home in the future, they have to create a home space where Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, The Last Remanant, and Star Ocean theme in there. I want a music player where it has all the music from Final Fantasy (that's what make the series so great, the music itself). Here this is what I think the other company are doing for home.
Atlus-Growlanser, Persona theme space
Konami-Metal Gear solid theme, or Silent Hill theme space
Koei-Dynasty Warrior, Samurai Warrior theme space
NIS-Disgaea theme space
Sega-Sonic theme space
Ubisoft-Tom Clancy theme space (I found Japan love Tom Clancy game)
Tecmo-Ninja Gaiden home space, I don't want to think about this: a Dead or Alive theme space, which include a area where you watch the girls playing volleyball in a sexy way.

i did applaud the idea of Home but Sony is not realizing it like i thought they would. right now it's more of an obligation than anything else to use it. i realize they just wanted to get it out the door now cause it's obviously not ready. nothing supports it yet. once they get this game launching thing going right though, i will use it alot more. it should work alot more like Live's Party mode then but will be more effective in meeting new people IMHO. either way, i was excited about Home at first, but after release, it's honestly not where it needs to be yet.

Home feels so ghetto to me, like it's some college kid's pet project. It kills me that it has so much potential but it's so damned empty. The mall has shops that haven't opened yet, and some that look open but have nothing inside. The game launching works for...1 game.
I'm not going to turn this into some a-z list of everything that's wrong with Home, it's just frustrating to see such a great framework so...unfinished. It's like walking into your brand new home before they put the drywall up.
The new spaces are very, very welcome but the key features that the users really want (media sharing from the hard drive, a home theater that is in your HOME, that cool Trophy room, game launching) are nowhere to be found. Not only that, but who's the dumbass that thought it'd be a great idea to make you wait in line for arcade games, bowling, and pool? You can't even watch people play the video games over their shoulder.
Ugh. I'll check with Home a year from now and see if anything improves.

I love Home, it's a really interesting, innovative app and as it grows and progresses it will become a brilliant way to connect your online social life and your gaming together.
I'll give it a year, or to full release, whichever comes first, as long as it has full game launching by then it will be able to replace my XMB.
The TV's and Picture frames are a big thing that's missing, I need them! - There really shouldn't be broadcasting issues as you can only do it in your home space.
Performing Rights Society are cunts though.
Ideally Home would be linked to things like Facebook, imagine a Facebook room, where all your friends can be found, or a browser in your home space, in fact a browser in your home space would be a very welcome addition.

Meh, i could care less, i just deleted home cuz I need space for more game instalations.
Really, and people blame of the lack of space on a Wii. I have a 160gb hdd and nearly have left like 20gb. the rest has gone on PSN, themes and PS3 games instalations and saves.
Still, its cool to see this thing gets support from 3rd parties, but I prefer direct contact with people than virtual one. I mean, a friend of mine wanted to change our weekly sunday meeting at another friend house with reunions on home!!!!! Can you imagine playing D&D over home????
