With so much content in Rock Band D-L-C, it's kinda hard finding Snoop D-O-double-G. But according to a release from MTV, that's about to become a lot easier as the Doggfather brings his trademark flow to MTV's music game (alongside a few other ventures with the music giant).
We love Snoop Dogg's music as much as the three-time winners of the "Least Urban Blogging Team" award can, but is this really a good fit for Rock Band? Do you commenters have any suggestions for Snoop tracks that you'd want to rock to? And will you be singing the censored on-screen version or spitting the original, raunchy fire?

"Snoop Dogg owns and plays a 360!?"
No, just like 50 cent's game, it is all marketing. As for the picture - meh. Rapper with a couple of white chicks. Nothing new here, move along.
Enjoy if you want, me? P to A to the Double SS. Rap is a joke and so is Snoop now.
XBox 360 - I can not wait to see how you guys will justify derogatory lyrics to your female friends. Good luck with that one - it is one of the reasons why rap crashed and burned.

Yes, because seeing guys whose avatars are MEGATRON and MARIO should automatically send me into fear. I could forgive Mario, that be could the same problem as mine (this website still does not save avatars right), but to the guy with Megatron - please little child, put the toys away when you blog on the internet.
I can not wait to see the replies with Strawberry Shortcake and LOLCat. Only thing better than that is a Mario hat on someone else...
Whatever. And yes, I did say double ss. Whoops. The rap industry has made "Z" the new "S" and just how many "lil'" and "yung" surnames are there again? And you rag on my one mistake? Typical. I noticed you guys did not have issue with me pointing out the tried and worn out usage of white chicks in rap marketing.
I noticed I got voted down - so what? Like that means anything.
XBox 360 - The difference between you and I is that I am not afraid of my mistakes. Had your dads pulled out, neither would they.

Ah, I understand now. You're just humourless and closed minded. The final piece falls into place. Try not to take yourself so seriously, no one else does.

I remember when they added Country music everyone was upset because it wasn't 'Rock'. Now that it's rap, people are getting voted down for the same opinions.

At least country has a "drummer" and a "bass guitar" and "an acoustic/electric guitar" and a "Singer". I'm not a fan of the genre, but at least it meshes well with the whole rock ensemble.
Most rap has only one of those. And it isn't usually the "singer". Country makes sense. Rap does not. Not until they sell the turntable add on. And even then...

It's about damn time. I wanted to like Guitar Hero and Rock Band, but between all of the different games, there were about 5 songs that I liked. Now, with some Snoop Dogg, I just might buy Rock Band.

Would make sense to actually enjoy music when playing music-based games.

I like the idea of Rap implentation, its not often I get rap music in my games, so hey, bring it on, and seeing as Rap ties in with a lot of Rock nowadays, why not?
@ Crono (NDF - Knight of the Old School), it depends on who enjoys it, those that like rap will understand the context it comes in, there is crap rap and crap country like any other music, if you don't take the time to understand the lyrics of the music being played and blindly say it makes no sense, it goes to show ignorance.

Snoop in Rock Band is an interesting choice, but there's a few hip-hop (and hip-hop influenced) acts I'd rather see on Harmonix's music 'platform':
N*E*R*D
The Roots
Limp Bizkit
I DEFINITELY think that N*E*R*D's "She Wants to Move", "Maybe", "Anti-Matter", and "Spazz" would play great, have some fun basslines, cool guitar breaks, and give the drummers of the world some fun beats to play out.

I've only purchased a couple songs for Rock Band since it's release, but this will be a must buy. The music in his songs always kicks, especially the drums n bass, so I'm really looking forward to this.

That first line in Justin's post is absolute gold. As for a song, only one I can think of is that joint Snoop had with Rage Against the Machine. Bounce, I believe was the title.

This could be greatness. Playing the few hip-hop songs Singstar has is really fun.
Hip-hop and classic reggae/dub could be so great for Rock Band. Deal with it haters

A lot of people are going to enjoy this. If you aren't one of them, you probably won't download it. It is a simple plan that's easy to understand and execute. Stand down haters, Rock Band is not exclusively yours to hug.

It's about time they got some non-rock content into Rock Band(!). I would have preferred some old school James Brown or Isaac Hayes, but this is a step in the right direction.
Black people like these games too!

SD being on RockBand is great IMO. I hoping the selected tracks will be a mix of old and new. Sexual Eruption would be nice party track. The Shiznit off Doggystyle would work too.
I hope RB can evaluate lyrical delivery a bit better than they have in the past though. It's usually way too easy to "rap' in RB.

Its called ROCK Band for a reason. Country, Rap, and Bob Dylan are NOT rock.
Keep all that crap off of my ROCK Band game until you run out of rock music (btw where's Creed? Van Halen? Led Zep?)
